Not sure if this is a surprise to everyone, but I have bought SCF from bryan tonight. With Bryans full confidence I plan on taking SCF to it's full potential!

I am extremely excited to start working here and I can already see how great this community is. Everything I see impresses me, especially the members!

I used to collect basketball cards as a kid and I remember setting up shop whenever my parents had a rummage sale. It was great fun so I am thrilled to contribute to the hobby again.

I have alot of experience as forum admin. I've been running various forums for over 4 years now, all using vb, so I know it like the back of my hand.

I know you'll all curious on my plans for the site, so I'll tell you. Like I said, I want to bring SCF to the next level, a giant level. I want 2,3,4 times the membership, more features and have this place working like a well oiled machine. I also have to say I am always working on ways to better the community quality wise. I don't just plan to make SCF bigger, I want it better. I want you all to have questions answered better, get better trades, faster trades, be able to sit back and enjoy the fun threads. SCF is all about having a good time and relax, however it also should be productive and useful. So with that in mind, I plan on upgrading to vb3 within the next month, no earlier than a week or two I'd say. Most hacks should be upgradable, I will keep everyone updated. With the vb3 upgrade will come a new style which should look professional, but fun and relaxing too.

So, don't worry, I am not the big bad admin taking over :) Please PM me and chat, get to know me. Again I am very excited to be here!

Well, sad to hear Bryan left us, but you sound like a straight-shooter. Hopefully you can do some positive things with this site and we can all have a wonderful experience.

Now...since I've buttered you up...if you need a mod or advisor, just give me a shout :)

I guess I should introduce myself a little bit.

My name is Grant, I'm 20 years old, from Monticello, Indiana. No wife or kids, just a girlfriend of 3 years, head-painter at my dad's Collision Repair Center that he owns. Soon to be mine, of course.

Pleasure to meet your acquaintance.

Feel free to drop a PM to any mod/advisor with something that may be of concern for ya. I would love to spend more time on the forums but finals are comming through so I stick to mostly football. I still would be glad to help ya out bdrr.

BTw Grant, I dont think BGray is leaving,He just wont be doing much of the website work compared to Greg who will have the decisions on the looks, features and such.

Yeah I should have made that more clear. Byran (BGray) isn't going anywhere. He's my right hand man :)

Hello, my name is pretty obvious. Welcome & I hope the site continues to grow. Is the card cash & card cash store a thing of the past now ? I went to go there to pay for the NBA GTS & didn't see it, that's when I noticed your post.

Hi Rick,

I have yet to make any changes, so I'd PM BGray with your concern for now. The cash/store system will be updated with the vb3 update.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was just wondering since like I said, I was gonna send podstock 10 cc to play the Wednesday NBA GTS.

Welcome aboard, I hope the site keeps on improving.

One quick question: Have you played around with the format of the site? Seems as if the page has been stretched so that some of the text on the right is cut off on the forum home. LMK thanks.

I'm not going to worry about any layout issues because we're going to upgrade to vb3 with a new style within the next few weeks.

Wow, this is a shock!

My name is Jim. I know most of the people here and can vouch for them.

If you need a mod who can be on more than others, PLMK because I am off on Worker's Comp with my 3rd knee surgery and can be here as often as needed.

I have been here a while and know my way around and I am also pretty informed on things.

I am just saying if you need the help, LMK because I am on quite a lot with nothing to do but cards right now being off of work.

A little about me: 27, married 1 child and 1 on the way.

If I can be of any help, PLMK

I thought either this was a very inactive SCF mod that I'd never seen before or that maybe an SCF newbie somehow got promoted really quick, lol. Now I know. Well, welcome aboard Greg. B does have a good thing thing going here and that's why its so popular. See ya around.

EDIT: Because the main forum page is wider than normal tonight, the card cash store is not showing like it normally does. However, it can be found by moving the BOTTOM scrollbar.

Welcome Greg!

I know this comes as a surprise to many of you but it is something I've been doing behind the scenes to help me free up some of the webmastering time and constant decisions to an experienced forum admin that knows the hobby. I've got a family starting up and can use the extra time.

I'm was VERY picky about who would be my successor in ownership as this site means the world to me. Greg is probably one of the strongest vb forum admins on the internet as I'm sure you will be able to see his other forums soon.

As for me and the rest of the staff we are staying put. I'm not going anywhere and in fact I hope to be on the boards instead of dealing with behind the scenes issues a lot more.

I think Greg had a little issue with formatting the Google ads but the cardcash store is still here and will remain. Keeping this and keeping the value of the cardcash was an important topic for me in this deal.

There is no former administration bddr. However, suggestions will still be available. Don't guess I ever got a suggestion from you for a basketball mod till now.

Anyway, I'm still here and so it everyone else. We've just brought a new owner on the will take the future of SCF to new levels.

Please give Greg a warm welcome!

Thanks,

BGray

This is a shock.
Definitely something that I wasn't expecting.

Welcome to SCF, Greg.
My name is Mike Wittman, I collect Rocco Baldelli and I write articles. Check them out in the Articles forum.

Good luck, and I think you've made the decision to purchase a very strong site.

PLMK if you need a mod for the Baseball forums, I would be glad to help.

Take care.
Regards,
Mike

Well, my hat is off to you both - Greg & BGray.
I know there is a lot of work behind the scenes, and it takes up a lot of your time. I'm sure everyone appreciates it all, but may not take the time out to express it. (I think by human nature, we only speak up when we have a complaint.)
Welcome & good luck!

Hi Greg. I'm Matthew and I was one of the first 200 members to join here. I think I joined just 3 days after the site was started so I'm one of the old pro's. I don't hang around here as much as I used to but I still pop in from time to time and pull off a trade or 2. Looking forward to seeing what your gonna do with the site.

Congrats on the purchase of this site!!

Hey Greg! I'm Paris from New York City, I collect baseball and I'm a big Pujols fan. I've been on this site for a few months now, this is an awesome site and I hope you can make it even better! I was wondering if you could make it so that there can be more people but when you sign up you don't just automatically get to join the site because there are many people who sign up just to rip people off on one big trade and nothing happens to them except they get banned. I would feel more comfortable if it was like The Cardboard Village and they checked to make sure you haven't been kicked off other trading sites, you have good ebay feedback ect. ect. Just my ranting :) Anyway I hope you can take this site to the max! BTW you got jipped 7/11 has no sports cards, only Yu-Gi-Oh ;)

vb3 is a major upgrade to this forum package. Right now the forums run on vb2. Too many features to list will be new, however the basics of using the site and the appearance will remain the same.

2. what major plans if any, will be made on this site that you have already either thought about or planned

Right now the forum upgrade. In the near future I also want to analyze the forums and see we can reorganize and cut some fat.

3. are there any plans on keeping this place safe if we are to triple and quadruple the members... this has taken place on the beckett board and look what has happened over there.. quantity makes money but quality keeps traders around

Absolutely, I pride myself in quality or quantity. I'm aware of beckett and have learned from the mistakes they've made.

4. are you also interested in trading and starting to get back into collecting or just running this board

I don't see myself doing much trading unfortunately. Running the forum will likely take up what little freetime I had before, but I like it like that :)

sorry if you think i am grilling you in any way... i just think we need to know a little more about what direction this site is headed

Let me break it down like this:

Upgrade - increase membership - stabilize quality - increase forum efficiency
