Hey all, I reviewed some of the forum structure today and came up with a few ideas that I implemented. The following has change, the arrows represent where the forum moved.

General SportsCard Talk ---> The Cards
Chit Chat (Off Topic) ---> The Community
Meet and Greet ---> The Community
Sports Card Articles, Guides and... ---> General SportsCard Talk
SportsCard Forum Games and Contests ---> The Community
Triva Archives ---> SportsCard Forum Games and Contests

These changes eliminated the need for the top "SportsCard Forum" category and moved the relating forums into more logical categories. By getting rid of that category the card and card trading categories move up to the top of the list as they should be as they are the most highly used. Also by doing so we compressed the forum list by about 10%. This means it's should be faster and easier for you to find the right forum to post in. Also I streamlined alot of the forum descriptions. Cut out alot of the verbatim and but kept the important information, this also cuts the forum list size and makes it easier on the eyes. Please give me your input on this change.

I think that this will just make it more confusing for newbies who don't know the difference between a "card forum" and a trading forum.

I recommend moving the General Card Talk to the Trading section and putting that section at the top of the page.
Regards,
Mike

We've always had a card and trade category, so I don't know why all of a sudden they'd be confused. Putting the trade category on top is an idea though. Anyone else?

I think the Community should be at the top actually. The central place for all the information and such. Its a place where the first thing you see is all the information and the "Meet and greet" Section and stuff.....Not to mention it was mostly like that before and as this site has showed me, Im not quick with change ;)

Very understandable and this can be discussed. My philosophy is that the most used, important and relevant forums should be at the top of the site. People come here to talk cards and trade, only later do they participate in general chat. General chat isn't the staple of the site so why should it be in a staple position. Also, it gives the site a more serious first impression. When visiting the site for the first time, what do you want a guest to see? A General chat forum or a card forum. It may seem rather trivial, but it makes sense. Thanks for your input, lets keep it going.

I get the impression from this statement that Greg is looking at hard SCF usage data furnished by SCF's webhost. This shows me that Greg takes SCF very, very seriously. Although I agree with Rockman and liked the other forum on top, it probably does make more sense to have the most-viewed and used forums at the top. The restructuring of the forums isn't quite as earth-shaking as the SCF upgrade. Everything is still there. However, I do think the "General Sportscard Talk" forum should stay with the rest of the card discussion forums.

btw, love the new "Score Ticker" feature on the main forum page!

The chit chat has more posts than any non-trading forum on the board but it's way down at the bottom.
