I need your opinion, I'm getting ready to start placing some order's for pre sell football cards in the next month and as a new collector I want to find out which brands of cards you guys feel are the best investment. Both UD Pro's and Prospects and Press Pass have listed there release dates in mid April. so I'll probably be placing orders for one of these, which one do you guys prefer?

Press pass rookies and auto's always do well, especially around the draft.

It depends on how much you are looking to spend. Some boxes are real good but they are very expensive or are you looking for the best bargain.

I will spend up to about $100 bucks a box but I won't buy many, depending on how much they cost I would probably purchase the most boxes that were priced around $70 bucks a box...

I like Press Pass too.

However, the best football cards is the 1986 Topps -- b/c of Jerry Rice rookie!!!!

Qball: What will you get out of your $100 investment? If I were you (I'm not and this is just my opinion) spend $100 on singles that you want. Last years SP Auth and SPX, are hot and well worth the risk on return. I get so frustrated when I buy boxes and just get hammered. Have a great day!
See ya at the convention!

I just placed an order for 21 boxes of 2000 SAGE Basketball and 1 box of 2000 Upper Deck Series one basketball. That should be fun to bust :)

Couldn't agree more. I love opening packs, it's like a lottery ticket with the rewards higher. They're fun to bust!

If they were still around I would say Collector's Edge. But since they are not then I would prolly go with Playoff Contenders. Since 1998 they have been one of the best cards out there. But either way you go I hope you enjoy and have fun. :)

Now I will agree that the Shop at Home crad did suck. But with the packs and boxes I believe that they were some of the better cards out there. I am not saying that all of them were good but you have to remember that Collector's Edge was one of the first ones if not the first one to do the game used thing. Back in 1996, Upper Deck had there game used jerseys and Collector's Edge had there game used footballs. Plus C. Edge was one of the sets that had your autographs and parallel sets to boot. hehe. Welp that is pretty much my 2 cents on CE. I will agree that everyone will not like them ie Beckett. hehe. But there will be others that do. :)

I agree with Mookigremlin on the Contenders. Playoff makes very nice cards. I also like the Pros & Prospects boxes.

I will in return have to agree with Dwain on the Pros and Prospects. I pretty much liked the look on the 2000 RC line. It was basic and simple but nice to look at. :)
