Hey all, I don't do more than dabble a little in memorabilia so I was wondering how solid GAI certs are. I know they are at least a known company but I don't know how good a cert is from them. Any help?

Personally, I wouldnt trust GAI. PSA/JSA/Mounted Memories/Steiner/Upper Deck are the most legit but also, the most expensive. IMO, it's worth the extra $$ for the piece of mind.

GAI has been thru some tough times lately including bankruptcy and there's been rumors of them certifying a lot of bad autos. I would agree with the post above and stick to items authenticated by PSA/DNA or JSA, or that come from the big memorabilia companies like Upper Deck, MM, Tristar, Steiner, GTSM, etc. If the item you are looking at is on eBay, you can do a PSA/DNA quick opinion for $7.49. If you end up winning the auction, you can send the item to PSA/DNA for authentication and you get a discount of the $7.49 you paid for the quick opinion.
