2010 NHL Entry Draft. Leg 2 in the race for the trio
RULES TO ENTER

1) You must make the following picks - 1st pick to 15th pick. (Include the first and last name) If, for some reason, a team should trade up (or down) to get a pick, it doesn't matter. Just let us know who will be selected in the 1 thru 15 spot.

Tie-Breaker (just in case!!) pick - #50. So, the tie-breaker goes to whomever is closest to the #50 pick (up or down).
If there is still a tie after the tie breaker a winner will be picked using a randomizer.

The Following is the link to Central Scouting's Domestic and International Rankings
http://centralscouting.nhl.com/

Here is a sample of how to submit your picks:
1) John Tavares
2) Victor Hedman
3) Matt Duchene
4) Evander Kane
5) Brayden Schenn
6) Oliver Ekman-Larsson
7) Nazem Kadri
8) Scott Glennie
9) Jared Cowan
10) Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson
11) Ryan Ellis
12) Calvin de Haan
13) Zack Kassian
14) Dmitri Kulikov
15) Peter Holland

50) Kenny Ryan

The contest will be scored on this simple basis. If you select the first pick correctly, you get 1 point, the 2nd pick nets 2 points, with the 15th pick being worth 15 points. So, as you can see, selecting the top of the draft is not as important, compared to selecting the bottom half, as picks 1 thru 5 are only worth 15 points, picks 6 thru 10 are worth 40 points, and picks 11 thru 15 are worth 65 points. Thus, there's a total of 120 points available for selecting all the correct picks.

In addition, there will be two extra way to add to your points total:

Correctly predict the total number of trades that take place over both Draft Days (Trades must take place on either June 25th or 26 to count). This will be worth a 20 point bonus.

A second 20 point bonus is available for correctly predicting the draft position of Kirill Kabanov. Considered by most to be the 'wild card' of the draft, Kabanov is considered to have top 3 talent by most, but a series of off ice issues have led to his draft ranking falling to #31, among North American skaters.

These questions should simply be sent in like this:
Number of Draft Day Trades: 5
Kabanov Draft Position: 31

2) Your picks must be sent to 30ranfordfan@gmail.com (don't forget to include your SCF username!)
Note: Please put "2010 NHL Draft" in the subject line.
The deadline for the contest is Thursday June 24th at midnight (EST). The Draft is set for the 25th and 26th

3) You must DIGG the contest:
http://digg.com/hockey/2010_NHL_Draft_Contest_Leg_2_in_SCF_s_Race_for_the _Trio

You will also need to DIGG the Trio Contest:
http://digg.com/hockey/Win_a_Cup_Triple_Autograph_of_Orr_Esposito_Bucyk_w ith_SCF (http://digg.com/hockey/Win_a_Cup_Triple_Autograph_of_Orr_Esposito_Bucyk_w ith_SCF)

By DIGG'ing the article you're helping it move up the ladder, so the more people who enter the contest on the DIGG site will help promote Sportscardforum to more collectors. Oh yeah, and when you DIGG it, it will state "DUGG!"

4) When you sign up at DIGG, you must send 30ranfordfan your userid on DIGG (or post it here) so he knows you DUGG. If he checks, only to find you haven't, your picks will not be allowed. He may contact you (at his discretion) if he wants to let you know you are not entered correctly, but ultimately, it is up to you to FOLLOW THE RULES!

5) The winner will receive their choice of any two of the following four cards:

2009 ITG Heroes and Prospects Subway Series Jersey Colten Teubert
2008-09 BTP Auto - Leland Irving
2008-09 BTP Auto - Jake Allen
2008-09 BTP Auto - Patrick Kileen

The runner up can select their choice from the remaining two cards, and 3rd place gets the last one.
(Big thanks to Jeff (Captngeetch) and Mike Silva for the prizes!)

The race for the Trio Points will be as follows:
1st place including ties - 5 Trio points
2nd place including ties - 4 Trio points
3rd place including ties - 3 Trio points
4th place including ties - 2 Trio points
5th place including ties - 1 Trio point

and since staff are ineligible, If any staff place top 5, then they would be excluded in these points and the next place would receive the points. While staff can not win the trio points, they will still be eligable to win the prizes for finishing in the top 3 of the contest.

Good luck to you all.
And May the Race begin!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone know where they are at? I missed on Kabanov (guessed 21), guessed 7 trades

But I did hit 4 in the top 15

1,2,6 & 11

Not bad.

Nathan7070
06-25-2010, 09:55 PM
Only the 22nd pick I think. I have 20 as well and guessed 7 trades and Kabanov at 24th overall.

i took Kabanov @ 50...

i had 1, 2, 3, 6, 8

20

Number of Draft Day Trades: 9 (whoops)

The Germinator

Only have 1,2,3.

Guessed Kabanov 27.

06-25-2010, 11:27 PM
how many trades were there today?

TysonX504
06-25-2010, 11:34 PM
I got 1, 2, 6 for 9 points and I also have 7 trades lol. No way did I expect to see Fowler and Gormley drop so far

dvo727
06-25-2010, 11:45 PM
I started off great 1, 2, and 3... then I didn't get any. Had like 13/15 right guys but just off by a spot or two. Fowler messed me all up too, jerk..

30ranfordfan
06-26-2010, 12:06 AM
I've started to total things up..... it won't be until tomorrow when we'll be able to see all the final points anyway.

I can say this though: The speculation is right. Fowler and Gormley killed everyone :)

It's likely going to be Sunday before I get the final results up.

KangoBass
06-26-2010, 12:24 AM
Wow, All the names in all the wrong places lol.

gretzky99
06-26-2010, 12:29 AM
i got 1-3 but then nothing else. i have to hope that kabanov goes #41 to have any chance. guessed 12 trades so that's still possible.

wolf1bh
06-26-2010, 12:50 AM
i got 1-2-3-6 had campbell to dallas then changed it doh i figured with leightenon they could get a goalie in round 2. that might have cost me 1st doh. had kabonov 29 and 8 trades.

KangoBass
06-26-2010, 02:11 AM
Got 1-2-3-6, had campbell also but one place wrong :(. I have no chance with kabanov points (had him at 19) and I had 6 trades. So if no one trades tomorrow I'm good :)

xelloss1012
06-26-2010, 03:59 AM
Well, 12 points isn't going to get me far either (1-2-9).
The Fowler did mess up things a bit and so did Skinner and Campbell. Had four others, but in the wrong spots..

Could it be a little bold for Dallas to pickup a goalie in the 11th spot? Rare for goalies to be picked in the top 15...

I wonder where Kirill will end up?

newfchef
06-26-2010, 07:49 AM
That draft was tough to predict to say the least. I got the first three right and then the screws fell out. Nothing right after three. pickef kabanov 43 and picked 31 trades. Guess I won't win this one. on to the free agency mess which will be even tougher

waf
06-26-2010, 09:09 AM
Got 1,2,3 then nothing. Like most people the early surprise at the 4 spot hurt. Had13/15 of the drafted players just of by a spot or 3. Have 11 for trades so after the 6 on Friday I will need 5 today to give me any kind of chance

Had Spooner at 50 went 45th I think

scottkoz20
06-26-2010, 01:50 PM
Brickley @ 50
kabanov @ 65

Crater_Satori

Nobody picked 24 trades, so as of right now it's not affecting the standings. I'l like to wait a day though, just for a few replies to this: Were there other trades I missed? Did any trades not happen that I listed?
