Free Agency Contest - Leg 3 Race for the Trio

Now that the Blackhawks have been crowned Stanley Cup champions, the 30 general managers of the league are getting ready for hunting season.

Their prey? The best free agents on the market. Your assignment? Predict who will sign where, simple isn't it?


To take part in this contest you will need to:

Rules
The Free agency period starts on the 1st July, which means that everyone will have to get their entry form to me by the 30th June 11.59 PM Eastern Time.

You will get one point for each correct prediction. For each player you can predict one of three things: his new NHL team, retirement or play outside of the NHL. Please note that if an UFA signs a contract before the 1st July, he will be taken off the list and no points will be given

(including retirement announcement). No points will be awarded for any player that remains unsigned after the contest deadline.

In the case of a tie for 1st and 2nd place, the tie-breaker will be settled by using a randomizer for the prize, the Quad Points will be split!

Example: 2 people tie for 1st, both would get 9 points, instead of 10 and 8 for 1st and 2nd

The contest will finish when all players in the contest are signed or September 10th, 2010 @ 11:59pm EST, whatever occurs 1st.

We have a 6 way tie at the top which means that 6 people are eligible to win the Ozzie card and 5 of them are splitting the first 5 places points (No points for staffer sorry Chris). We have a 9 way tie for second place with 8 people splitting the points attributed to the 6th,7th and 8th position.

Let's start with the points for the race, 39 points were to be ended out in this contest. like this:
1st: 10
2nd: 8
3rd: 6
4th: 5
5th: 4
6th: 3
7th: 2
8th: 1

So the people in first place (5) will be splitting 10+8+6+5+4= 33/6 = 6.6. Therefore, as we do not want to go over 39 points each will get 6 points.

For the people in second place (8), they are sharring the following points: 3+2+1= 6/8= 0.75. Therefore they will each be getting 1 point.

The total of points towards the race for the trio given will be 38 points and here are the point winners:

I may scan the pages when I get closer to the end.....Its a great conversation piece with everyone who visits....like I said - I know a lot of old time Kings fans and its memory lane for them.....they remember almost all of them when they played for the Kings....
