Now I really don't know much about current cardboard for I haven't bought any packs in like 2 years, but I bought a few packs at Target today for the hell of it and one of them was a pack of 2002 Bowman Draft Picks & Prospects. In the pack I got a Don Murphy (whoever the hell that is) but the card is like 3 times thicker than all the other cards. Has this happened to anyone else before? When picking out a pack, I picked this one because it was thicker than all the others, but now I know why.

Hey Ig,
Every pack of 2002 Bowman Chrome Draft Picks & Prospects have a thick card. It's a "gold signiture" card (not many people buy them). If you buy any more of the 2002 Bowman Chrome Draft Picks & Prospects packs and get an XFractor or Gold Refractor of someone like Casey Kotchman or BJ Upton then you have something! I have an XFractor of Kotchman worth $60, they're #'d to 150.
Invest in a sealed box of 2002 Bowman Chrome Draft Picks & Prospects if you have $80. They are going to be a big seller in 2-3 years JMO.

Thanks big guy... I didn't even notice it was a gold sig instead of the normal black sig. I did get a regular Casey Kotchman... never really heard of the kid though. I guess $3 for the pack wasn't too bad.

If the Kotchman card was one of the 2 chrome cards in the pack I'll buy it off you. LMK

Nope it wasn't. Are there such ones? I don't have any Becketts here with me at school but using the website, I couldn't find it.

yeah. Each pack has 4 cardboard cards, 1 gold sig (your thick card), and 2 chrome cards. If your lucky, one of the chrome cards will be a parallel xfractor (#'d 150)or gold refractor card (#'d 50) of one of the more popular players. I've toyed with the idea of trying to make a set of the xfractor cards, but that would cost a fortune.

I tried opening 4 boxes and couldn't even get the regular set completed.
I might only have half of the Bowman Chrome and 1/4 of the Gold.
It's tough just getting an insert, but like considerittraded said, they will be a big seller in 2-3 years.
They will be on fire!

They're not bad looking cards and because everyones extremely young, could be a worthy set of putting together and burying for 5 years.

Hey Al,
Just curious, how many xfractor & gold refractors did you get out of the four boxes?

I love the rookie cards and draft pick sets. I have a few. I bought 10 packs just recently and pulled a Jason Stokes All Star Futures Game relic jersey. Nice card.

Out of 4 boxes I got
2 Jerseys
4 Autos - 1 Khaul Greene
7 Refractors
2 Xfractors
1 Gold Refractor

An average of 4 inserts per box. It's tough for inserts and tough to build a set.

The Gold Ref. was #164 Andres Torres
The Xfractors are #79 Steve Russell and #91 Charlie Morton.

Did you get any?

Unfortunately no. I've opened about two boxes (one complete box and individual packs here & there) and no xfractor or gold refractors. Some auto cards though. I've bought some xfrac & gold refractors off ebay. A bit of a gamble but those will be the cards to have if the players hit the big time.

Hahaha, I always pick the middle pack. You have to feel up some packs while you're pushing them away.
