For one thing, any 1952 Topps card will never fit into a toploader. Those '52 Topps are slightly larger than today's standard card size.

Imho....If real they're usually flawed, rounded corners, OC, slight surface creases. OR Graded.

You have to trade a GAI 9 Mantle rookie. What was your choice....Place your vote in my poll...

The 1952 Topps site (http://1952toppsbaseballcards.com/)

Just might have your answer. If not it's a very neat site :)

Any 1952 Topps Mantle for sale that's not graded by PSA-SGC-GAI is probably a reproduction. Even if it looks old and beat up (easy to fake) and there is a story about finding it in Uncle Ned's fishing tackle box. People are even printing counterfeits onto card stock with their inkjet printers and using everything from their oven to the dirt pile in the backyard to make it look "old" and legit.

No one in his right mind will leave thousands of dollars on the table by selling his genuine 52T Mantle raw. You might be able to trust a top dealer, but they are in their right mind when it comes to profit and thus would get it graded.
