I got an awesome poster celebrating the 1948-49 Eagles, and I've found that there are quite a few of these guys still around. I've got some of their addresses, but could use help with these:
Clyde Scott
Alvin Johnson
Jack Myers
Pete Pihos
Bill Mackrides
Leslie Palmer
Jim Parmer
Frank Ziegler
Duke Maronic
Cliff Patton
Fred Hartman
Neill Armstrong

Thanks in advance for any help,
Mike

I sent a letter to Mackrides on Thursday, and he already wrote back to me. I'll post his address in the ttmm once I've gotten my item back from him.

Hey Slitz,
I sent letters to all three about two weeks ago, and received my letters back from Armstrong and Myers today. I'll be mailing my poster out to Armstrong tomorrow, and Myers once I get it back. Thanks for your help.

I've had successes with Mackrides and Armstrong, and have one out to Myers now. I haven't heard back from Scott yet. I was wondering if anyone can help with:
Alvin Johnson
Jim Palmer
Leslie Palmer
Frank Ziegler
Duke Maronic
Cliff Patton
Fred Hartman
Thanks,
Mike

I looked on SCN and I could not find any successes for your list. The only address listed for any of these guys was:
Frank Ziegler
4211 Misty Morning Way, Apt 2102
Gainesville, GA 30506

One person sent to this address in Jan 2010 and did not get a success yet. Wish I could be more help. Good Luck!

I guess I'm about finished with this project. I was able to get Chuck Bednarik and Frank Tripucka using the addresses in the TTMM. Slitz hooked me up with addresses for Armstrong and Myers, and I was able to find Mackrides on google. I sent letters to Scott, Savitsky, Wistert and Ziegler, but have yet to hear back. Here's how it turned out:

I've also started a 60 Eagles. I've received Retzlaff, Reichow, and McCusker so far, and have letters out to a bunch of guys:

All the successful addresses are posted in the TTMM, thanks to everyone for the help!

Van Buren and Pihos are in the HOF. On the 60 team, Van Brocklin, Jurgensen and McDonald are HOFers.

Just encase anyone was wondering, I've been able to verify that Jim Parmer and Duke Maronic are no longer with us.

Van Buren is very much alive, as an FYI.

Anyone have a success from van buren?

He was reliable until 2005, as most HOF'ers that don't sign anymore.

Updating this, I got a return from George Savitsky late last month, and received my request letter back from Al Wistert yesterday. He wrote me a nice letter, and gave me the ok to mail him my poster, so I'll be mailing it out Monday.
I've also got 6 guys now on my 60 team poster, and will be hitting up a local show later this month to get McDonald, Barnes, Sapp and Lucas. Cool story: When I sent a request letter to Eddie Khayat, he responded that he would be happy to sign, and asked if I needed help with addresses. I sent the poster and asked him for help with 8 guys I couldn't find with research. He returned my poster with addresses for 7 of them! The 8th, Gene Gossage, is apparently to ill to sign. I mailed the poster out to one of them, Chuck Weber, the other day after getting the ok to send to him, and I'll be working on the rest after the show. All of my successes are in the TTMM, and I'll post new addresses with each new success. I'll try to post new pics of the posters when I get the chance. Thanks to everyone for the help!

hey man maybe this will help you, so that you dont have to go searching for each person who is still alive and who is not, and also if you get an addy on someone you can see if it matches with what the website says for their hometown

Yeah, that's it. I have all of their home addresses, but it cost me about 8 bucks to send the poster round trip anyway, so I might as well pay a little extra and bang them all out at once. It's always cool to shake their hands too.

Thanks, I actually have something from earlier this year that had every member of the roster, and what their hometown was if they were still alive. That helped my track down Gunnels, Khayat and Dean pretty easy. Mr Khayat was able to help me with some others that I wasnt sure of or needed verification of. Like I said, I've been posting my successes in the TTM as they come in. Thus far I've received MCusker, Reichow, Dean, Gunnels, Retzlaff and Khayat, and mailed out to Weber last week. I'll be getting those four at the show slitz mentioned , than I plan on sending to Wilcox, who returned my request letter next week. I've still got about ten more guys after that to send request letters out to as well.

hey druce, arent you working a 1960 eagles piece too? I found this:

Former Eagles Linebacker Maxie Baughan will be appearing 2/5 at Concord Mall from 2-4 PM
All Autographs 15.00

Thanks slitz, I saw that. I wound up missing the show last weekend. I sent out to Chuck Weber on the 3rd, and haven't gotten it back yet. I should of held onto it until after the show, but I got greedy. I'm hoping to at least get it back this week so I can get Baughan, and I do have addresses for the guys from the Poppel show. Thanks again for the help,
Mike

Figured I'd throw this out there again. I'm still looking for addresses for Alvin Johnson and Cliff Patton, who are both still with us as far as I can tell.
