View Full Version : Some other baseball haves....
Klac Version 1 07-27-2003, 12:31 AM I think the best gem in my extremely limited collection of non-showdown baseball cards is a Jeff Bagwell rookie card. (Specifics below)
I do have a Kenny Lofton rookie, when he was with the Houston Astros...(can't believe that one). It's a Score....I'd give it a 7 to 8 on the scale of condition....but be advised I'm not hardcore on these, so that may be slightly askew in more hardcore collector's opinions.
I also have a DonRuss Al Leiter rookie card. (Like I said, not hardcore stuff.)
The Bagwell rookie is a Fleer Ultra.
Just a feeler, see if anyone's out there.
podstock 07-27-2003, 12:42 AM Bagwell rookie is a Fleer Ultra
what condition is it in (corners, creases, etc)
and what price are you looking to sell it at?
Klac Version 1 07-27-2003, 04:13 PM Be honest, I have not ever done a cash for card deal online, and I don't know if I want to start.
Condition. In my opinion, I give it a 7 to 8. the corners are good. It is in a plastic page collector's book. I believe it is a worthwhile condition card to add to a person's collection.
As far as a price... I don't know the market, so I don't want to make an estimate until I do some research.
I'll be in touch.

Would you have anything from WOTC Showdown?? That is my primary collection available. If not, I'll let you know. I do not have a large collection of non-showdown baseball cards, and I don't know what else I would be looking for, yet.
redlegs2144 07-27-2003, 04:31 PM Don't have any of those, so what else would you be interested in? LMK if you collect other sports because I have a couple football and hockey gu
Klac Version 1 07-27-2003, 04:35 PM Primarily I do not, but give me an idea what you have to offer. If you don't want to do that in public, my email is in my sig... or PM me. I'll listen to anything...
redlegs2144 07-27-2003, 04:52 PM well all I have left other than baseball is
Dameyune craig gu jsy
Junior Seau gu jsy (pending)
triple threads Biakabutuka/ Hoover/ Muhammad (pending)
and a Adam Deadmarsh Classic Stitches gu jsy
PLMK if any of those interest you other wise we can work something else out
Klac Version 1 07-27-2003, 05:29 PM Ok.. Whoa..
Let's remember here that I do not have a lot of experience in dealing in 'regular' baseball card trading. I am going to perceive that the term 'JSY' means GAME USED JERSEY. If that is so, then, whoa. I would believe WHOLE HEARTEDLY that ANY JERSEY, whatever it may be, is more worthwhile than a baseball card, unless we're talking supreme classics.
I am not in the business of trying to do anything but learn here....my experience is dealing card for card...I am getting a little confused. I need to do some looking around.
redlegs2144 07-27-2003, 05:50 PM I understand and by jsy I do mean a Game Used jersey, PLMK which one you would like to trade for the bagwell
By the way is this the card you are talking about?...
1991 Ultra Update Jeff Bagwell #79
PLMK and I understand that you are still learning and what not:biggrin:
Klac Version 1 07-28-2003, 01:21 AM No. It is Fleer Ultra # 198.
I still mark its condition at a 7 to 8, examining it a little closer.
Still interested?
redlegs2144 07-28-2003, 01:26 AM I am still interested but I might have to do a little researching, after research #198 is the number of Jeff Bagwell's 2nd year card
rodent14 07-28-2003, 01:28 AM Your card is a 1992 ultra, not a rookie card. It books for 50 cents in mint condition.
rodent14 07-28-2003, 01:29 AM I have a question, what is WOTC Showdown? Is that just the first edition, or some sort of expansion? I have some showdown cards, but don't know what set they are from.
Bonds_25 07-28-2003, 01:37 AM Rodent check your PM's please.

1st off, if I honestly knew it was significant, I would've said so. I didn't know, and I just wanted to see what sort of reaction I would get. That's why I didn't jump in to a deal with anyone because I didn't want to screw anybody because of my own lack of knowledge.
2nd off, I oughta just offer up my entire limited collection, but I doubt it's worth anything to traders like yourselves, hardcore to the last.
Klac Version 1 08-01-2003, 02:53 AM I will gladly speak with anyone who has questions about the Showdown cards I have been speaking of. Also, to people who mention names of ball players where they're looking to collect 'any' cards of them, there are some of those names that would end up in a showdown set, and if you're THAT interested, I would gladly try and assist you with any possible deals.
be that as it may, i doubt i'll get much action, but it's worth a shot. I noticed as I was posting this I saw the names Mientkiewicz, Ainsworth, Vidro, to name a few. I would not ask much in return, and I certainly wouldn't ask for hardcore items, just something that I can show my kids, from a baseball card perspective.
In other words, HIGHLY NEGOTIABLE.
Just a thought.
