What kind of impact do you think this guy is going to make to the NBA and the hobby?

Kobe is getting sick good. It's really scary. I did get a chance to see Labron on that ESPN game. He's really great for a high schooler. I'm sure he has a very good shot at being a good to great NBA player as well, but I don't feel that isn't something that should be taken for granted. It's going to be fun watching! :D

Not to start a race thing here, but what's wrong with a young black man getting paid? I see people all the time act like it's such a shame. A big name that comes to mind is Dickey V. He keeps saying how good a year of college would do for LeBron... why? Coming out of highschool, he's going to get a 12 million dollar contract for 3 years (I believe that's the rookie cap for next year) and at least 20 million dollar shoe deal. That's 32 million this kid is going to have. As long as he's smart with it, he's set for life. It's taking a kid out the hood and making something of himself. If he goes to college and gets hurt, then what is he? Just another broke kid living in the hood trying to survive everyday. I have no problem with LeBron (or anybody) skipping over college if it's going to make you money. Tell me, how many jobs are there that if LeBron went and completed college, he would make at least 32 million dollars in his lifetime?

There is nothing wrong with Lebron going to the NBA. A person that has the skills to make it in any proffesion should be allowed in no matter what age they are.

At the age of 30 (me) I will go to the NBA and sit on the bench and hold gatorade cups for 50K a year. The hell with college.

I dealt craps (dice) in the casino and my last year I made 48K, not bad for a 6 week course. and no college degree, and opportunity for advancement to upper management, but they go to, too many meeting on their time.

College is for wimps... to many tech schools out there.

Hey Bill Gates dropped out of college, nobody is saying he has to have a degree.

oh yeah all they have to do is put him with an older Vet and keep him straight, and he will be ok. That is what MLB does and they send all their rookies to class about finances and all sorts of things, if you notice less MLB players are always on the front page doing something stupid.

The NBA has the same type of classes for its rookies

Lebron is going to be a force in the league whether its his first game or his third year. I guess we'll have to wait and see!

I think he will be decent his rookie year but will need at least a year in the leauge to develop. He's got going to be playing against High Schooler's any more, hes going to be going up against some of the greatest athletes in the world

Nobody should ever be forced to go to college. Having a bunch of athletes going to school that don't want to be there is a distraction to those kids that really want an education. Football and Basketball need to start a minor leagues like baseball so that no one is forced to go to college. It will never happen as there is to much money in college sports, especially football.

I agree that athletes should go to the pros if they are good enough to contribute. Anyway about having athletes that don't want to be in school being a distraction to other kids, my question is how possiblt could these athletes be regular students. Take for example basketball. If you play for the team and you mkae the NCAA tournament it is possible for you to be away from school for at least a month.

I think Lebron will become a superstar in the NBA after a few seasons.

I agree, if he starts out bad the media will be all over him and put 10x as much pressure on him as their already is/will be

Being from cleveland and seeing him play i believe he will have a much bigger impact than Kobe or any kid out of high school ever he is simply phenomonal he in my opinion would be a first team nba right now.During the off season he was working out with the cavs (lucas got suspened 2 games for it) and word has no one could come close to gaurding him he was 17
