I know this opinion might not be totally popular and it might be a little out there, but if he doesn't get a major injury I can easily see Michael Vick having a career that could make him considered the best player of all time.

He's got all the skills: good passing, great arm, unbelievable speed, quickness, and a pretty good football head.

I just can't get over those 2 Viking players running into each other trying to tackle him on that long TD run towards the end of the year.

Mark my word. He will be a 1,000 rusher as a QB.
Awesome!

Anyway, what do you think?

I think he has the potential if he can stay healthy. I watched a couple Falcon games and was amazed by his skills.

OK, now I'm new here, but my user name shows I'm a HUGE Viking fan. And the Vikes made Scott Mitchell look like a Pro Bowler. So, if Vick runs like that when he plays the Bucs, or Eagles you can say he is one of the best. But not against the Viking defense (or lack of). I'm banking that he'll be a hot hobby commodity the next couple of years. And I will invest some loose change on his Etopps as well as high end Rookie cards.

Vick is only the way he is now because ATL doesn't have the pieces in place to be a good team. I say in 2 years, you'll be surprised to see Vick take off running because it'll no longer be a normal thing in Vick's arsonal.

That may be true! Of course by that time we'll have the younger brother Marcus to ponder.

Well since I'm at a Big East school, I always hear about Marcus. From what I've heard about him, he's nothing special. By nothing special, I mean you're not going to see another Mike Vick in Marcus. He's not as fast, not as athletic, but from what I've heard, the kid has an unreal accurate gun.

The Vikes made a very good point. Look at what Vick did against the 2 best defenses he faced last year. He was totally shut down against the Bucs both times he faced them, and in the playoffs he made a few plays but still couldn't get anything going against the Eagles. Teams have to prepare for him differently than they do other QBs, but what Vick really needs is better receivers to throw to so he doesn't have to put himself on the line with his scrambling. If Atlanta can pull off a deal for Price that would go a long way towards giving Vick the tools he needs to be a great QB, as opposed to being a great athlete.

Welcome Brian! :D

This is actually a good subject to talk about as The Falcons (and Vick) did get shut down a couple of times last year vs. good Ds.
IMO anything the Falcons did vs any D was a credit to Vick. When it comes to Ds like that though it is always going to take a lot more than 1 man, no matter how good.

You're right. They've got solid players on offense, Crumpler, Dunn, Finneran, but they went as far as they did last year due to Vick's elusiveness and athletic ability. If they want Vick to have a long healthy career though they need to put the players around him that can also make the big plays, and let his arm be his primary weapon. His scrambling ability could then be used to keep defenses honest.

I think Vick will continue to get better and then the rest of the leauge better watch out or he might be having 100 yd games left and right

As a team though do you really want that from your QB? If you do, put him at RB and draft a QB. Vick's a phenomenal talent, just hope he doesn't get hurt, cause if he can't run he's only an average QB.

Nope, I've personally seen Marcus play and he's the real deal. IMHO Marcus is much better than Mike (when comparing thier freshman year's). I'm not for sure if he'll get to start this year or not, but he will get playing time. He's matured rapidly after watching from the sidelines for a year.

I wish I had the video clips from the spring game, the kid's got a rocket for an arm and shows moves that his brother would be proud of:eek:

he will defenitally continue to get better and may be considered as one of the best players ever to play as long as he does continue to get better and not get injured... he is really good....

hopefully he wont get in a motorcycle accident. hes not going to break marinos record of all time passing yards... but hes going to be the best all round quartback of all timel... the elways, nasmeth, marino's, youngs, they all had great arms,... but not one of em had the speed or athletic ability of Vick,... vick could play on a teamk that had a horrible offensiveline but with the other guys they have to have the protection because tehy are unable to get rid of defenders... im not sure if it was vick but once i saw a QB throw a guy down in a game to ward of a defender

Vick has great potential as long as he avoids two things

Works good with his receiving core... especially now that somebody good is there in peerless price.

Find ways outta zone defense that contain vick.. aka the whole bucs D

Any team that had even half way reasonable defense got burned. Top 5 D's stoped him though
