Well, I guess if the world doesn't end, that proves there's no god. Except for the fact that end-of-the-world predictions have a 100% failure rate.

So where do you want to meet in the afterlife? We could have a SCF mixer welcoming everyone.

Man, I am getting married on the 14th, but I won't be able to go on my honeymoon, what a rip-off, haha.

This is the biggest mess I have heard. BTW it doesnt prove that there is no God. You can take things out of context, which these poeple did, to make the text say whatever you want to (biblically speaking).

Ah, let's see - Matthew 24:36

"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

Jesus' words, folks. I suppose you could know the month if you're extremely blessed or lucky, but if you're a follower of Christ, forget the exact date stuff, 'kay?

Exactly. Khendra has this guy nailed. He's going directly against the scripture he claims to believe in when he says he knows when the world will end. Of course, this isn't the first time he's done this.

I'd really like to see what his reaction would be if someone waved this verse in his face. Must be one o' them thar metaphorical whatsis, Ah reckon.

And, lest we forget, the same rebuke applies to the 2012ers.

And sadly, he isn't the first proclaimed believer to do this kind of thing. Could Jesus have been more plain?

on the site he states his theology behind May 21st and addresses that verse in there, but he is wayyyyy offff in his theology.

What up GBM. I have to disagree with you somewhat. It dosen't prove that there is not a God but it does prove that no one predict doomsday just like the bible says no man knows the date and time. It also proves that people will always misquote scriptures for their own purposes and as well as people will always make predictions of when the world is going to end. They have been doing it long before any of us were ever thought of and they will continue to do so long after our grandkid's grandkids are gone. So go out take care of your fam and your community, live your life to the fullest with no regrets and do right by God and you can't go wrong. When it ends it ends.

This guy strikes me as a numerologist, not a Christian. He keeps talking about what numbers in the Bible mean.

* 7 days = 7000 years. God gave Noah 7 days to prepare so that means we have 1000 years?
* The number 10 or 100 or 1,000 signifies completeness. (I thought they were multiples and divisibles of each other)
* The number 17 frequently signifies “Heaven.” (41 years and I never heard this before...)
* The number 23 points to destruction. (Unless you are Michael Jordan...then it points to NBA Championships)

Christians consider numerology to be related to witchcraft, palm reading/future predicting, etc. This guy is trying to combine the two. Not SOP of most Christians.

A guy who runs a radio show in San Fran was just pointed out as the one who created this. Most likely to improve ratings on his religious radio show after spending money advertising on billboards across the country.

I love the part where Camping said that Family Radio (or whatever the hell his group is called) would 'try their best' to reimburse all of the people who basically gave up their life savings to help him promote the Rapture.
