Contest Rules:

***Please only enter wins from the listed dates.***

1. Contest begins at 12:00am EST August 1st and runs until 11:59pm EST August 31th. Only auctions won during that time will be accepted for entry! And... Entries will be accepted until September 1st, 11:59pm.
2. Three (3) auctions per member per month. (Please edit in your wins into one post as many have done last month) The auction needs to be on single cards, not on a box of cards. Choose wisely! (Hockey only, please check the other sports for a similar contest)
3. Post a link to your Ebay auction win.
4. The Ebay user ID in your SCF profile MUST match the user ID of the winning bidder!
**I will not chase people to make sure that there Ebay Profile is set up properly on SCF. If your ID is not set up your entry will not be accepted. So please make sure you are good to go. If you do not know how to setup your Ebay user ID in your SCF profile, feel free to contact me but I will not chase people down to make sure it is done.
5. Explain why you think your card is a steal. If it has a BV, let us know. You can even show previous auctions that ended to compare your win. Convince us!
6. The Hockey moderating team will vote on the winner. Winner will be announced after the votes are in and given 150cc into their account.
7. Member must be in good standing. Please refer to the SCF Rules page (http://www.sportscardforum.com/view.php?pg=rules)on infractions.
8. Please make sure that the auction you submit is not a private listing (where eBay IDs are not shown). Private listing auctions will not be accepted.

Here's the proof of me winning the auction. My max bid was $7.00.

Story:

I was doing some late night ebay searching for some Stammers, and this card caught my attention. The numbering on the card didn't attract me at first, even though it's /10. It was the price that caught my attention. It was at $3.25 with just under 2 hours left. I then saw that shipping was $15 to Canada and only $3 to the US, and im 100% sure that this threw off any Canadian bidders. Luckily, my dad owns a PO box at a post office just across the border in the US. I thought id better message the seller before bidding, just in case he wouldn't let me ship the card to the US since my ebay address is Canadian. With about an hour left in the auction, he replied saying it would be fine. Now all that was left to do is win the card. With about 3 minutes left in the auction, I placed a bid for $5.00. I was now the highest bidder at $4.25. With about a minute left, I decided to up the stakes and did a bid of $7.00. I ended up winning the auction and I immediately thought it was quite the steal! I walked away with the card for $7.25 shipped!

I think this was a steal because it's a low numbered card of an NHL superstar. Getting a card /10 for $7.25 shipped is amazing, plus the card is from a semi high-end product (SP Game Used). All and all, this has probably been my best steal to date, and im very proud of it.

Here is mine. I usually wait untill the last minute to bid but it was getting late so i just popped a $20 bid in. Cant find any sales on these but i do know the few that i have seen had price tags of $125+. You can ask what you want i know but still think i got a great deal.

The reason I think this is such a steal is because the LOWEST I've ever seen one of these go is about $100 and for my first one, which I purchased about a month or two ago, I spent $147...a savings of over $100!!! These hardly ever pop up so that's why I think this is such a steal :)

Hmm, really? it seems most of the ones I see of mid-level players sell for more than that, and Doughty could be the best D in the league within 2 years, I think. I just added a low bid to my snipe program and was surprised to win.

just checked out some of his completed rookie sales on ebay and it his value has seemed to drop a bit. it's time like this I wish I had the extra cash to stock up on a player.

Entry 1: Well, I've been doing a lot of business around on ebay lately, and have decided to enter my first contest on SCF. My first steal, is this amazing 1/1 Printing Plate of Antti Niemi. As only the 4th goalie in NHL history to win a cup in his RC year(Ward, Dryden, Roy, Niemi), I consider this a major steal of a guy who has oodles of potential. Who cares if he has 0 feedback(I noticed he's on SCF aswell), it really is a genuine steal.

Entry 2: While browsing all of the new stuff, I. E. Ultimate Collection, I decided tom take a step back and look upon other great cards that hadn't gotten as much attention to detail. With 2 future HOFer's(Datsyuk/J. Thornton) and a very good potential wise-goalie(S. Mason), I don't think anyone could pass this lot up.

yup, looked up my paypal invoices and bought it for $4. Blank Backs are a strange breed. I sold a Ben Eager for almost $6. I noticed that with blank backs, players that aren't featured much in other sets dont sell as high as they should but guys who are seldom in anything (ie Ben Eager) go for a lot more than they should.

I have trhe card in hand and am 100% this is real. After seeing how they press these swatches in there the card would have to be split in half to fake it. I know it looks like there is only a tag/patch there but there is actually material filling the whole thing like a backer. Very hard to describe.

Risky, very risky indeed. Very tough to tell if that's authentic or not. Good find though!

I have trhe card in hand and am 100% this is real. After seeing how they press these swatches in there the card would have to be split in half to fake it. I know it looks like there is only a tag/patch there but there is actually material filling the whole thing like a backer. Very hard to describe.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it has been confirmed that good patch fakers can split the card in half and manipulate the swatch. Not saying yours is fake or real, but seeing no damage on the side of a card is hardly an indicator of authenticity.

I am aware that splitting is possible. After talking to the seller(pack pulled by him)and checking the card out I would stand by this card. I think it would be very, very difficult to fake these cards without showing something.

Been watching these Tools of the Game cards for awhile trying to find a better MacInnis one than the white swatch I have, and if this one is real then it is the best one I've ever seen, hands down. I'm not saying it isn't, I would have no idea, but I do know that even a 2 clr swatch is somewhat rare in this set. Maybe the exclusives have better pieces in them, I don't know. All I know is that it seems like a grand waste of talent to forge something that and then flip it for less than 20 bucks.
My guess is that it is legit - nice card!

Nice cards, but seems strange to me all these steals came from the same ebay seller?

I thought the same thing, however, the seller listed them under "Autographs-original" and not "Cards", so they went under the radar. And with the cup being released yesterday, it seems like a lot of people were distracted by that.
