So disappointing. Especially considering the "poverty level" for a family of four is around $22,000/year. I'm just in my first job out of college, and I make significantly over that, and I don't have a family to support.

Depending on the area, it is worse in some places. I know the county next to mine has like a 25% unemployment rate.

I garruntee the people described in the artical have flat screen tv's , cell phones, cable tv, and wear only the best shoes , and $100 jeans . They are seeing the effects of Hope and Change as promised .

Highest poverty level in the world.

yeaaahhh...I'm sure there are many other countries that have a higher percentage of things being much worse than just about any city in the U.S. I don't see Sally Struthers doing a commercial in Minnesota about how hard iit is to get by. Families that have to share one car, parents that need to use up part of their welfare allowance to get the newest Xbox game or decent sneakers so their kid won't get picked on. There's always an answer but a lot of the people that live in 'poverty' just accept that thats how their life should be
