Welcome to the 2011-12 SCF Regular Season Pool!

The Pool this year, in addition to having an awesome grand prize, is once again part of SCF’s year-long contest, The Race for the Price!

The grand prize for the Regular Season Pool this year is a 2010-11 Panini Limited Trios Patch card, of Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin, and Pavel Datsyuk, numbered 8/10!

As this is a long-term contest, points for The Race For The Price will be awarded as follows:
1st place 10 points
2nd place 8 points
3rd place 6 points
4th place 5 points
5th place 4 points
6th place 3 points
7th place 2 points
8th place 1 point

To participate, there are three simple steps:
1. Digg the contest here: http://digg.com/news/sports/sports_card_forum_sports_cards_community_23
2. Post in this thread expressing your interest and your Digg ID to confirm step 1.
3. You must also digg the year long contest here.

Sean (30ranfordfan) will then add your team and send you the login/password to the SCF Regular Season 2011-12 Pool.

Your team will consist of 12 forwards, 6 defencemen, and 2 goaltenders. You cannot pick more than three players from the same team. Additionally, you are required to select at least 3 players who are either Rookies or Second Year players. Members can track their progress throughout the season here, as standings will be updated weekly. You will also be able to check daily at the SCF Regular Season 2010-11 Pool at the link provided by Sean.

The pool is being run at OnlinePools.com

Members will need to pick a complete roster of 12 forwards, 6 defencemen, and 2 goaltenders. A member cannot pick more than 3 players from any one team.

We are using several scoring categories, 5 for skaters and 4 for goalies. 2 of these categories include negative points: +/- can result in a loss of points if your team is in the negative overall, and while your goalies earn 2 points for each win, they lose 1 point for each regulation loss. There will be no loss of points for overtime losses.

The points scale is as follows:
Skaters:
Goals = 1pt
Assists = 1pt
Game Winning Goals = 1pt
Power Play Goals = 1pt
+/- = 1pt

Goalies
Win = 2pts
Loss = -1pt
Shutout = 2pts
Assist = 2pt

Rules:
In addition to your roster, during the course of the season you must successfully complete a minimum of 5 trades at SCF. Trades are to be posted in the thread upon completion. This means trades initated and completed between October 6, 2011, and April 7, 2012.

Any Infractions or Negative Trade Feedback received during the contest will result in an automatic disqualification from the contest.

The member with the most total points at the end of the regular season shall be declared the winner of the contest, and be awarded points in the Race For The Price as well as the Trios /8.


In the event that the top two players are tied in total points, we will use total goals scored as the first tie-breaker. If that is insufficient, the player with the individual goaltender with the most wins out of the four on the rosters will be the winner. If there is still a tie, randomizer.org will be used to determine the winner.
All entries must be submitted by October 6th at 12pm EDT. Late entries will not be accepted.

A maximum of one roster move per month will be allowed per player during the course of the season. This is to cover both injuries and poor performance that can occur during an 82-game schedule. Only one each month, though, so be sure to choose wisely. To make a roster move, please PM 30ranfordfan indicating which player you would like to drop and which player you would like to add in his place.

anyone who was looking at the standings earlier today..... there was an adjustment. Turns out I was dropping and adding players for ppl when they requested a trade - and the result was it swaped out entire season stats for the two players.

I've corrected this, and any trades that were made - you'll begin to accumulate points for that player the day of the trade.
