I teach in inner city Cleveland, where many of my students are well below the poverty line, so any sort of "perks" are pretty rare.
Yesterday, I had my students in English giving oral presentations, and my one kid did his on the Browns. His dad is a cop in Cleveland, and works closely with the Browns. For his visual aid, he brought in Josh Cribbs' helmet, as well as a pretty beat up football.
Following the presentation, the helmet went back to the Browns, but the ball was given to me by my student- turns out said ball was used in the Browns/Seahawks game of a couple weeks back.
It was a really cool gift, and something that wont ever be leaving my memorabilia collection.
Just wanted to share!
