View Full Version : I love my job (no, no, this is a memorabilia post, I promise)

I teach in inner city Cleveland, where many of my students are well below the poverty line, so any sort of "perks" are pretty rare.

Yesterday, I had my students in English giving oral presentations, and my one kid did his on the Browns. His dad is a cop in Cleveland, and works closely with the Browns. For his visual aid, he brought in Josh Cribbs' helmet, as well as a pretty beat up football.

Following the presentation, the helmet went back to the Browns, but the ball was given to me by my student- turns out said ball was used in the Browns/Seahawks game of a couple weeks back.

It was a really cool gift, and something that wont ever be leaving my memorabilia collection.

Just wanted to share!

Reminds me of an episode of "The League." Great gift from your students! I was given a Packers Super Bowl t-shirt last year signed by my students for a gift last year.

Excellent gift!

Im not too far from you,Im down in Akron.

A little side story,My aunt and uncle used to own a Dry Cleaners up in Elyria and over the years some of the Browns Players would go there. My uncle had a good sized Browns collection that ranged from a Tony Jones game used helmet to some Jerseys and a ton of Autographed photos.
