When Stephen Goodman heard his grandfather never received a single card during his military service in Vietnam, it left him deeply saddened.

Never wanting another serviceman or woman to feel unappreciated, the 11-year-old decided to write every single one a thank-you card.

Now, 18 months later, the schoolboy from Surprise, Arizona has completed a staggering 181,612 cards for U.S. troops serving overseas. The youngster had made 15,000 cards in six months when photograph company Kodak heard of the project and offered a helping hand. They printed thousands of professional cards based on Stephen’s original design, adding an outline of the United States to the front. The youngster wrote a batch of cards in one sitting, several times a week. He often invited friends over to help him complete the cards.

He added that he still has piles of the notes left over, so plans on sending them to different Veteran Association hospitals around the country.

Wow, that's amazing.

That would be almost $80,000 in postage.
