When it comes to terrorism, American policy is to react first ask questions later. Doesn't make it right, that is just the way it is. It has nothing to do with being Islamic.
About 20 years ago I got into a conflict with someone and was accused of threatening to kill them (I didn't). I was charged with "terroristic threats". After the person who I supposedly threatened told the police that I did not threaten them the charges were dropped and life went on. Fast forward to 9/11, everyone becomes "terror scared" and anything associated with the word terrorism is red flagged.
A few weeks ago I went to buy a handgun for myself (my Christmas gift from my wife). I had to wait additional days while my background check was processed because there was a problem. Turns out they had to do an investigation into my "charges of terrorism" before I could be approved.
This is not Islamaphobia, it is terrorphobia.
