I think this is dumb. It is akin to asking prospective students their religion. It's none of the school's business.

And what exactly do they list for orientations?

Heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, transsexual, heteroflexible, gay for pay, straight but not narrow, crossdresser on weekends like J. Edgar Hoover, crossdresser on weekends but much more fabulous than J. Edgar Hoover... After all, we need to cover the entire spectrum, don't we? For as Ween has taught us, there are many colors in the homo rainbow.

maybe they just ask your number on the Kinsey Scale.

This is absolutely absurd. Who in the heck would think this is a good idea and even brainstorm this, let alone actually releasing the idea to the public.

Wait. It is not OK to ask college students what their sexual orientation is but it is OK to ask California judges what theirs is? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/03/12/california-questionnaire-asks-judges-to-list-sexual-preference-451429651/

Newsflash folks. California is an uber-liberal state. This is the first steps towards giving preferential treatment to gays/lesbians/transgendered people. Think of it as "sexual orientation affirmative action".

it's not that uber-liberal when same sex marriage gets voted down in one of the most pro gay cities in the country, but get what you are saying.

I don't think it's okay for judges to be asked their orientation either.
