So, what dose everyone do for a living?
I work for Volkswagen. I am on the quality team that inspects the cars after they are built, but before they are sold to our sales company.
Previously I did 4 years active duty with the Navy, and I am still currently in the Navy Reserves.
I am also in school working on a degree in Information Systems: Multimedia and Visual Communication.
What about everyone else?!
Thanks,
Steve

Nothing right now, been laid off for over a year by a construction company. Reason unknown, but probably because I know there games with the pay and hours. One of a few 100% US citizens who work there.
Economy is horrible. Applications out but not hearing anything back. Been trying to move my cards for sale to help pay stuff.

I am substitute teaching at the moment. This is all preparation for me as I plan to re-do my student teaching this fall and get an M.A. in teaching (I have successfully completed most of the program, but I obviously can't get the degree if student teaching doesn't work out next time in the fall).

I work for everybody who buys oil, gas, tires, and plastics.
You got it oilfield. I am a Service Leader for Halliburton. I average 100 hrs a week, currently over 4 crews 20 people and 4 cement pump trucks approx 8 million dollars, and 51 drilling rigs that I check on twice a week, set the jobs up on, follow up on customer comments good and bad, sell equipment to keep the pipe centralized in the hole, and many other things as well.
I am also a husband and a father of 3 girls. Which is a job too.

I teach the 6th grade here in Texas. I'm also working on my thesis and upon completion I will have my Masters of Education. At that point I plan on starting my doctorate in history. Not sure what specialization of history quite yet, though.

Good luck! What do you plan on using the doctorate for - teaching at the college level? That was my original dream back in 2007-08, but finances and self-doubt, along with a bad market, led me to drop the community college teaching program I was in at the time. If student teaching works out next time for me in my current program, I'll be certified to teach English for grades 5-12.
Kudos to the teachers of the world. Tough job!
