I have a seminar in downtown Pittsburgh tonight, which they're not feeding me at (jerks!). Which means I'll be stopping somewhere to get something on the way home. I was thinking Taco Bell, because I was curious about those Doritos tacos. Has anyone had one? Am I wasting my calories/money/bodily well-being, or is it delicious?

I wasn't to impressed with it. It isn't a strong flavor so it kind of gets lost in the taste of all the other stuff that's in the taco. It is cheap enough to at least give it a try I'd say. I don't get how they price stuff there, seems stuff is either cheap or pricey.

Ate 'em, liked 'em. Now I'm probably going to spend the night in the bathroom. Worth it!

Ha yeah why does stuff that tastes good do that-probably because it isn't actually good for you. Almost have to plan what you eat sometimes based on the after effects.

This was not a pleasant morning. Oh well, it was still worth it! I usually order from the fresco menu when I go there (healthier, and I'm a tomato addict), so I'm sure that's why it didn't agree with me.

I guess it's better than McDonalds. Won't touch that junk anymore.
Not sure if you could consider TB healthier since it does have lettuce/tomato etc. lol.

Exactly my thoughts. It really didn't taste any different than a regular hard-taco shell. The Doritos flavor wasn't even noticeable.

Haha, it actually does tend to be less caloric. I can fill myself up on Taco Bell at the expense of about 600 calories and 15 grams of fat. Not bad at all for fast food.

I just looked it up, there is only 200 calories in one of those.

If you make sure your tongue hit the dorito shell first, you could totally taste it. But if you ate it fast, there wasn't a tremendous difference.

Can't believe I'm spending the first part of my work day discussing the modus operandi for eating a taco with a nacho cheese shell. It's making me hungry.

Yeah I think I need to stop by there and pick up a couple of bean burritos w/o cheese.

I'm disappointed they got rid of the beefy crunch burrito. But at least they brought it back for a little while. I went in there and they didn't have it anymore. I guess they replaced it with the...

I'm more of a soft taco, burrito kind of guy myself. I just had to try the dorito shell though. I try to go for the best values. Like Veggie mentioned, the bean burrito is a solid value for 99...

Lol. I did it last night. Definitely put me into some gastrointestinal tumult. Still don't regret it!

Moes is 1000x better than taco bell but they cost a lot more. However you get what you pay for.

I had a couple of them. They aren't bad. I don't like that they are more fragile than the regular crunchy taco shells and the ones I have had are cracked or get soggy much faster. I also don't like the dorito fingers but that's a known issue with eating doritos. Over all they are pretty good, but the time I ordered two it seemed like too much.

I love the Fresco menu. The wife and I do Weight Watchers and those are relatively cheap, points-wise.

I don't like Doritos, so I'll stick with the regular shell.
