A French video game collector just sold a collection of thousands of video games on eBay for more than $1.2 million.

The collection includes every video game for many of Nintendo's consoles, every video game for every single Sega console as well as all the games for the lesser-known NEC video game systems. In total, the collection includes 22 full sets with about 7,000 video games.

I know that there are a few rare video games that sell for top dollar but I am surprised that he made that much off it. Videogames almost always deappreciate in value. I wonder if if the winning bidder will actually pay up.

I really wonder what he made. It sounds like he may have been a dealer and kept one over the years. Or at least for some of the games as he posted. I guess his profit all depends on his cost. I was trying to find a total number of games that were in this collection just to get a unit cost. That's a huge collection indeed. I wonder how long it took him to list it all out.
