Jeter hurt his shoulder during a collision to third base! Hope he isn't on your fantasy team!

I saw the replay after you IM'd me. It looked pretty wicked. The best you can hope for there is a jam but expect him to at least be placed on the 15-day DL 2morrow.

The REd Sox lost to the Devil Rays? Pinella must be dancing! Sorry to hear about Jeter. It better not be an omen for him.

Yup the Red Sox's decision of using a bullpen by committee fails on their first attempt.

Now the Devil Rays are actually in first place

Jeter is out for the season, it sucks for me (Diehard Yankee fan) and all other Diehard Yankee fans. He was my #1 pick on my fantasy team - boy am I screwed! Oh well, who cares, the injury is more important than fantasy ball.

It's way too early to believe any "out for the season" rumors you may have heard.

Agree with Iggy.

But I will say this: Jeter's had a dream life --- young, wealthy, several world series titles.

this is nothing. he'll be back

Woah! Don't post stuff like Jeter's gone for the season unless he is. I read that and I almost passed out.

Nothing from ESPN so far as to how long Jeter's out

ESPN.com is saying at least a month right now.

I have heard he will hear his fate by Thursday.

Well, a month on DL is not too bad, esp. given that the game stopped for 10 minutes, and Jeter was howling in pain.

So you knew the injury was gonna be serious.

Still rooting against the Yankees!!

I was watching the game and was going so scared when I saw what happened. It's not Huckaby's fault or whoever the catcher was, anyways it looked like it hurt a lot!!!! Jeter is the heart and soul of the Yankees and I was relieved to see that he is not out for the season, not that being out 6 weeks at best isn't bad enough(http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2003/0401/1532294.html)!! The only good things are:
1) that its Opening Day and he still has plenty of time to recover before the Playoffs,
2) and that it was his non-throwing shoulder.

I HOPE HE GETS BETTER and GO YANKS 2-0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he's only going to be out 6 weeks, according to estimates so far.

MRI results should be out soon.

It doesn't look as bad as previously thought.....

to be continued........

Jeter's an optimist but that's not going to make his shoulder heal better. With it being his left and he's a right-handed hitter, getting back to baseline may be tricky for him.
