View Full Version : Why do people not COUNTER-OFFER

I find it so funny that people do not counter-offer when you give them a price. They ask you what you are looking for and you tell them and they say well to high for me. It even says in my signature not to be afraid to counter offer.

They probably figure your price is too high to offer a counter as the middle ground is still higher than what they are willing to pay. It seems like there are a LOT of people who are hoping you will not know what you have and ask for an outrageously low price so they can then snatch it up and act like they did you a favor by giving you your asking price.

my 2 cents is that most of the people on here are young- so they do not know negotiating skills? Obviously not in all cases, but that is what I think.

I always counter offer.Problem is never have any success.

I agree with MJFan - I will counter if there is room, but a lot of times I won't counter if I know there is no chance to work out a deal, it just wastes both peoples time.
