View Full Version : Major League Baseball Survivor
Molina00 04-01-2003, 11:17 PM Last year on another message board I saw something where there was a list of players and member voted on who they wanted removed from the list. I guess sort of a popularity contest. Anyway, I liked the idea and thought I would do that here. For starters I will post a list of 1st baseman and anyone that wants to can make one vote of who they want kicked off the list. Everyone has can vote once for each position and I will remove the top 3 vote getters.
Here is a list of the 1st baseman.

stkmtimo 04-01-2003, 11:24 PM Please remove Erubiel Druazo.
Tim
leftyshan 04-01-2003, 11:25 PM David Segui
podstock 04-02-2003, 12:23 AM Here's one **NOT** to remove - Scott Spiezo. For the last 2 years, he's had a 0.998 fielding percentage.
Think about that -- almost perfect, at a position where it's vital you don't make mistakes.
And he's not a bad clutch hitter either.
gioperation 04-02-2003, 12:32 AM eric karros
jpsmiley 04-02-2003, 12:48 AM Rob Fick
Molina00 04-02-2003, 09:09 AM So far it is a 4 way tie between Fick, Segui, Karros and Durazo.
plunge 04-02-2003, 12:04 PM Segui
Molina00 04-04-2003, 10:26 AM 1st round results are Segui with 2 votes and Durazo, Karros and Fick each with 1. In the event of a tie I will take the liberty of dumping the tied players until 3 have been voted off.
Voted off:Segui, Durazo and Fick
Molina00 04-04-2003, 10:28 AM You have until Saturday morning to get your votes in for the next 3 to be knocked off.
gioperation 04-04-2003, 10:48 AM Anaheim-Scott Spiezio -because I hate what the angels did to the Twins last year, get him out of here.
plunge 04-04-2003, 11:12 AM Carlos Pena.
dtownlions33 04-04-2003, 12:03 PM i don't like the yankees at all i say jason giambi
pwaldo 04-04-2003, 12:35 PM Boston-David Ortiz
leftyshan 04-04-2003, 12:47 PM David Ortiz
jdfan123 04-04-2003, 03:01 PM randell simon
gioperation 04-04-2003, 05:38 PM OMG why ortiz, he is cool can't, he needs help in the field, but he can hit if given the chance everyday to play.
Simon went 3-4 today with with 2 rbi's and 2 runs scored and is hitting .500. Iggy is not going to like this. LOL
Molina00 04-04-2003, 08:37 PM I am somewhat curious as to why someone would vote for Carlos Pena. I think he has lots of potential and will be a great hitter one day. I thought people liked the up and coming stars.
Is it because he is with the Tigers?
jpsmiley 04-04-2003, 08:45 PM Get rid of Derek Lee.
No way you throw out Simon, not now anyway!
stkmtimo 04-05-2003, 12:38 AM Erubiel Durazo, he's going to be a terrible flameout.
Tim
tlw9191 04-05-2003, 12:42 AM Jason Giambi
Molina00 04-05-2003, 09:27 AM I forgot to vote when I updated this post so I will vote off Durazo now.
The final results of round 2 are
Spiezio-1
Pena-1
Simon-1
Lee-1
Giambi-2
Ortiz-2
Durazo-2
Second round eliminations are Giambi, Ortiz and Durazo
You have until Sunday morning to get your votes in for round 3.
Molina00 04-05-2003, 09:28 AM Since I forgot that Durazo had already been voted off I will change my vote to simon and he will go with ortiz and giambi
stkmtimo 04-05-2003, 10:31 AM Carlos Pena
Tim
plunge 04-05-2003, 07:06 PM Pena

gioperation 04-07-2003, 03:38 PM Chicago-Paul Konerko
see you paully baby you bum you should have been on the north side.
Molina00 04-07-2003, 08:00 PM With the current lack of interest in the last couple of rounds and the fact that I am tired of this, I am going to stop doing this.
Anyone that wants to may continue.
FYI Plunge, Giambi was already eliminated.
plunge 04-08-2003, 09:53 AM Whoops.
gioperation 04-08-2003, 09:31 PM damn can you at least finish the 1st basemen, I was curious who would be the last one.
Molina00 04-08-2003, 09:52 PM Okay. I will finish 1b.
I will also vote for Meintkeiwicz.
So voted off are Meinteiwicz, Vaughn and Konerko.
plunge 04-09-2003, 12:13 AM Who's left?

Chicago-Eric Karros
when is the end of this round
tlw9191 04-09-2003, 11:30 AM Ryan Klesko
plunge 04-09-2003, 02:07 PM Sweeney - SI's scouting report said he can't play defense.
Molina00 04-10-2003, 09:47 AM Now eliminated, Karros, Klesko and Sweeney.
Only 2 AL'ers left. Olerud and Palmeiro
tlw9191 04-10-2003, 11:20 AM Mark Grace

Colorado-Todd Helton
I wonder what your stats would look like outside of colorado
leftyshan 04-10-2003, 02:26 PM J.T. Snow
Molina00 04-10-2003, 09:24 PM Unlike Neifi Perez(can't really compare the two though), I think Helton would still be a very dangerous hitter outside Coors.
I also think people don't think guys like Castilla, Walker, Helton, Galarraga or Bichette can hit outside coors just because they all put up such rediculous numbers there. They may not have as good numbers but will still be up there. Perez was pretty much a Coors field hitter. Helton is not.
stkmtimo 04-10-2003, 09:42 PM Jim Thome
Tim
llcooljoe 04-19-2003, 02:30 PM rafeul palmaro
Molina00 04-19-2003, 06:29 PM 2-Grace
1-Helton
1-Snow
1-Palmeiro
1-Thome
I am going to go with Snow for my vote and knock off Thome to settle the tie.
By the way llcooljoe, you totally butchered Palmeiro's name.
stkmtimo 04-20-2003, 12:45 PM Rafeul Palmaro? lol, anyway, will you have another contest soon? This is pretty fun.
Tim
Molina00 04-20-2003, 05:13 PM Wow. I didn't think anyone really cared.
Well since someone actually likes this I will do second base next if 1B ever gets finished. Why are you voting for Palmeiro?
What is not to like him?
gioperation 04-20-2003, 06:40 PM who is left?
Molina00 04-21-2003, 09:58 AM Olerud
Palmeiro
Casey
Helton
Bagwell
McGriff
Sexson
Martinez
plunge 04-21-2003, 01:51 PM McGriff
just-for-cards 04-21-2003, 02:50 PM Martinez
gioperation 04-21-2003, 04:00 PM I say martinez after the fight yesterday, larussa talkinga bout the pitcher staring him down, well he never talked about tino staring the pitcher down, I would stare him down as well, but I think that fight came out of frustration, it is amazing what happens when you don't have that yankees lineup batting behind you or the fact that most teams are afraid of the yanks.
my vote martinez cause he is a scrub,
IggyWH 04-21-2003, 04:02 PM Sexton... never liked that goofy looking dude
gioperation 04-21-2003, 04:07 PM he does look prety goofy doesn't he, I the fact that he is so tall, he just looks wierd.
Molina00 04-22-2003, 10:01 AM Well, looks like it is McGriff, Martinez and Sexson this time.
Here is who is left now:
Olerud
Palmeiro
Casey
Helton
Bagwell
stkmtimo 04-22-2003, 10:03 AM Bye-bye Palmeiro
Tim
plunge 04-22-2003, 10:42 AM Olerud.
tlw9191 04-22-2003, 03:08 PM Palmeiro
IggyWH 04-23-2003, 12:50 AM Olerud can take himself and his hard hat off the list.
Molina00 04-23-2003, 09:27 AM I will vote or Casey as the 3rd guy.
So eliminated is Palmeiro(NOOOOOO), Olerud and Casey.
All that is left if Helton and Bagwell.
Victory Sports 04-23-2003, 09:58 AM helton
IggyWH 04-23-2003, 10:27 AM Boot Casey, he's an over-rated bum!
Molina00 04-23-2003, 10:33 AM I didn't think he was held with such high regard after his last couple of years. Anyway I booted Casey last round.
All that is left is Helton and Bagwell.
IggyWH 04-23-2003, 10:48 AM Oh, lol... my bad. I'm a big Helton fan so boot Bags.
tlw9191 04-23-2003, 11:24 AM Bagwell
Molina00 04-25-2003, 09:01 PM I vote for Helton so we have a tie.
We need more people to vote.
plunge 04-26-2003, 12:02 AM Bagwell (I guess I'm the swing vote)
Molina00 04-26-2003, 09:29 AM And the winner of the first base round is...........
. . .............. . ................ ...... .. .
. . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . .
.............. .............. . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . .
. . .............. ............. . ...... . ..
Molina00 04-26-2003, 09:30 AM In case anyone is wondering what all the dots are,
I was spelling out Helton with them.
It looked pretty good but when I posted it clumped them all together. Oh well.
helton wins anyway.
plunge 04-26-2003, 10:58 PM Molina, can we do this with other positions?
IggyWH 04-26-2003, 11:30 PM Just an outfielder one in general would be pretty phat to do.
stkmtimo 04-27-2003, 12:09 AM Good! I wanted Helton to win. I'd love other positions. This is pretty fun.
Tim
plunge 04-27-2003, 12:31 AM How about 2nd base next?
Molina00 04-27-2003, 08:59 AM Sure I can do other positions.
It will take a lot of typing doing all the good OF'ers but I will try.
Anyway, 2B will be next.
plunge 04-28-2003, 11:30 AM Cool!
