Great Player and Great Card
IggyWH 03-04-2003, 04:33 PM Anything Arod... I made a fortune of his rookie cards. When he was first called up when he was 18 (September call-up), he didn't do anything. His cards dropped like crazy because everyone thought he was just hype. Well I went on a buying frenze, then 2 years later he's tearing it up and everyone wants to buy back their Arod's they sold me for like 10 times the amount I bought them. Although since Arod's my fav player, I said forget you all and held on to them.
cardcollector869 03-04-2003, 06:03 PM 94 Sp Arod Rookie and 89 UD Griffey Rookie

I wish UD Griffey's were still worth good money. I have a ton of PSA 9's and a few 10's, but can't sell them! As far as the Arod SP, you like the regular one better or the die-cut?
cardcollector869 03-04-2003, 06:40 PM Look for Griffey to have a comeback year this season as he is in great shape, and hopefully his cards will start to move up again. As for the A-rod I had to go with the regular because I own a few of these but I don't own any die-cuts. I got a bunch of the regulars at a local shop when A-rod was just coming up and got them for real cheap.

Yup the same with me, I wish I could still get those Arod's for $3 like I was! I also remember buying up the McNair SP rookie's for $1 a piece, I was happy about those!
hersch03 03-04-2003, 07:38 PM I like the Jordan upper deck card that came out sometime around 92 but I'm not sure

bassmaster 03-04-2003, 10:10 PM This is an easy one. It's the 2001 Etopps Roger Clemens card I have sitting on my shelf. On each side is a 2001 Etopps Arod and a 2001 Big Unit. Out of all the 1,000's of cards I have, these are the only three on display.
tygercub12 03-05-2003, 02:52 AM A Mickey Mantle bat card my ex-boyfriend pulled. I gave him half the packs I had gotten for my birthday to open so he didn't have to watch me do it... he pulled the card, got a sly grin on his face, hid it, and made me guess what it was. The card is in a box for now until I get over him, but it's my favorite.

Look for Griffey to have a comeback year this season as he is in great shape,
Listening to Vitale on Mike and Mike in the Morning last week sometime Vitale went into:
(In my best Vitale voice): "MARK MY WORDS BABY...JUNIORS BAAAACK....LOOKS GREAT...I'M TELLING YA....LOOK FOR 50 and 130 OUTTA HIM THIS YEAR BABY!!!!"
To whick Bob Picozzi responded: "What...50 games and 130 at bats?"
Thought that was pretty good.
ristvan 03-05-2003, 09:10 AM 75 George Brett mini. It got me hooked about 20 years ago. Been collecting ever since.
BGray 03-05-2003, 10:28 AM George Brett, Nice! That got me thinking about what got me into collecting. I've got to add 1983 Topps Wade Boggs to my list. That is what started it all for me!
Welcome in ristvan! :D

The card shop, I go to, was just talking about that yesterday, he was like I made a small fortune on ARod Rookie, he said he had over 100 of them, people were trading them and he was buying them for like .75 because everybody wanted this certain Yankees rookie that year.
