View Full Version : Sosa hit #500 gioperation 04-04-2003, 09:22 PM it's about time Sammy.:hop: stkmtimo 04-04-2003, 10:17 PM Finally, well-deserved! Tim podstock 04-05-2003, 12:45 AM Does Sammy have the motivation (and luck of staying healthy) to hit 600? With any luck, it could take just 3 more years. leftyshan 04-05-2003, 12:46 AM Originally posted by podstock Does Sammy have the motivation (and luck of staying healthy) to hit 600? He could do it next year with a couple of 50 HR seasons. gioperation 04-05-2003, 01:04 AM he could do it this year ifg he was god, if he stays for 5 more he could have the over 700 maybe an AL team is looking for a DH. IggyWH 04-05-2003, 03:21 AM Of course earlier today I traded away my Sammy Sosa 01 etopps... figures! I swear, I am the most unluckiest bastard ever! gioperation 04-05-2003, 09:36 AM it depends what did you got in return IggyWH 04-05-2003, 01:27 PM Originally posted by gioperation it depends what did you got in return I traded him and a 01 Manny Ramirez for an 01 Soriano and 02 Vick. The 01 Soriano's CV now though is up to $69 so maybe I was smart. plunge 04-05-2003, 06:02 PM I think Sammy's got a good attitude and hopefully he can stay healthy. Griffey's injury on the field could easily have happened and can still happen to him. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Sosa will continue. It's great to see someone behind Bonds, even if he's in Bonds' dust. wdwain 04-09-2003, 12:46 PM Sammy is a monster in the batters box, I agree with Plunge - Sosas attitude toward the game is great. podstock 04-09-2003, 01:13 PM Dang, Iggy, that's one smart maneuver! Now, sell it and get cash! IggyWH 04-09-2003, 01:21 PM Originally posted by podstock Dang, Iggy, that's one smart maneuver! Now, sell it and get cash! I'm not a seller. I should start to as I could make some decent money in this etopps game. Right now even with all my bad transactions that I made when I first started etopps, my port is up 133% of what I paid. If Hinske ever decides he wants to start hitting the damn baseball, I'll be up a lot more than that too. podstock 04-10-2003, 02:26 AM Iggy, if I may impart some of my stock market wisdom to ya: you never go broke selling for a profit. as they say on Wall Street: bulls make money; bears make money; pigs get slaughtered!! and Cash is King! Well I first wanted to build up a nice port. Then when I decided to sell, I could then take those profits and flip them into more etopps cards. Stage 1 was building my port which I like where I'm at now. Stage 2 is wait till I see a baseball spike and then SELL SELL SELL! podstock 04-10-2003, 02:59 AM Iggy..nice strategy. I don't know anything about how Etopps works, so I cannot legitimately comment one way or the other. |
