View Full Version : Griffey hurt again. radioheadfloyd 04-05-2003, 06:34 PM http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2003/0405/1534409.html Dislocated shoulder diving in the outfield. podstock 04-05-2003, 06:44 PM radiohead, lol. you beat me to it. I was just gonna post this upon reading it on sportsline.com Boy, if it weren't for bad luck, Griffey would have no luck. lolol That's too bad. Perhaps it's the Mariners jinx. He should've stayed there! gioperation 04-05-2003, 06:49 PM man that guy that is winning that one auction for the graded 10 must be sick right now. radioheadfloyd 04-05-2003, 06:51 PM Originally posted by gioperation man that guy that is winning that one auction for the graded 10 must be sick right now. That is what I was thinking. I think Griffey is still a lock for the HOF though, even if he is done. Gold Gloves, near 500 HRs, etc. pwaldo 04-05-2003, 07:46 PM Yeah, but if that guy was paying that much money for that card he was hoping Griffey would have a huge comeback year which it doesn't look like will happen. BGray 04-05-2003, 07:53 PM Man! Grif sure has been prone to injuries from day 1. Remember he broke his pinkie finger in the shower his rookie year. I would love to have seen what his career would have been like relatively injury free. :( BGray gioperation 04-05-2003, 07:56 PM no doubt Bgray, that guy might have hit 1000 HR's. podstock 04-05-2003, 09:12 PM gioperation...I was thinking the exact same thing when I heard Griffey got hurt. lol. He had an offer of $9400 and that still didn't meet his reserve price. lol. That's karma, baby. pwaldo 04-06-2003, 05:19 PM http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2003/0406/1534691.html He's out at least six weeks and could be gone for the season. podstock 04-06-2003, 05:56 PM wow, already, it's possible to miss the ENTIRE season? Well, at least he go injured on the field, where everyone can see it. Unlike athletes who get injured in the off-season by "falling over their dog" lolol. Some dude actually used that as a reason for a wrist injury, but I forgot who. And let's not forget Jeff Kent, who badly hurt his wrist from falling down while washing his truck, lolol. Of course, rumors strongly suggested he injured it motorcycle riding. radioheadfloyd 04-06-2003, 06:02 PM Originally posted by podstock wow, already, it's possible to miss the ENTIRE season? Bring on Plummer! jdfan123 04-06-2003, 06:27 PM same old same old this guy should hang em up podstock 04-06-2003, 06:36 PM radiohead..lololol. yea, I think it was Griese. lol the things athletes will make up for extra-curricular activities that get them hurt..so they don't invalidate their contracts. Remember Ron Gant of Atlanta Braves...just a marvelous player. Then suffered nasty injury while motorcycling during the off-season. Never was the same. pwaldo 04-06-2003, 07:05 PM Originally posted by jdfan123 same old same old this guy should hang em up He better if he wants to be able to move after playing baseball. He has 2 bad knees and now an injury to his shoulder. The irony is didn't Phil Nevin nix a trade between him and Griffey before the season and now both of them have the same injuries. plunge 04-07-2003, 11:24 AM But at least Griffey's is not for the season. What sucks with both Griffey's and Jeter's injuries are they are the shoulder they both use more for their swing. My pathological optimism for Griffey goes something like this: if Jeter can recover, so can Griff. Me in denial? Maybe. podstock 04-07-2003, 02:04 PM Jeter's much younger than Griffey, and this is his first serious injury; he should heal faster. pwaldo 04-07-2003, 04:42 PM Originally posted by plunge But at least Griffey's is not for the season. Jeter is different because he is much younger and has not been injured as often as Griffey has been. The guy is suppose to be in his physical peak yet everytime he runs the bases or takes a swing he breaks an arm or a leg. It just seems like he has been cursed ever since he left Seattle. |
