Amare deserves it though mcirish 03-11-2003, 09:55 PM no markc45 03-13-2003, 02:51 PM no i think that yoa will get rookie of the year he has great assists and is a good shooter. hes made the rockets a lot better gioperation 03-13-2003, 03:28 PM amare better win, all the money I got invested him winning the ROY, I have been hedging my bet though,*seen recently buying ming, butler and gooden* Ryan simplygq2002 03-20-2003, 02:53 PM Both teams were lottery team last year in fact so that isn't a factor. The major factor is which team makes the playoffs. They are both fighting for 8th so which ever team makes the playoffs then that that teams rookie should be it. CSlax3 03-20-2003, 07:04 PM Yao will get it... but amare had a great year... its just everyone likes and knows about YAo..not to many people know amare Garycolemanx 03-31-2003, 02:38 AM Yeah cause Amare has also turned the Suns from a lottory team to a playoff team. All though I think there both playing on the same level. Really Caron deserves Rookie of the year and I have no idea how anybody can doubt that. Caron his tearing it up, even if his team sucks. it's about the player themselves and Caron deserves Rookie of the year. stkmtimo 04-04-2003, 10:21 PM Amare deserves to win, as does Caron Butler. I just don't see how Yao can win it. I know the fanfare is great, but is that a legitimate reason for giving him ROY honors? You be the judge... Tim podstock 04-05-2003, 12:57 AM Whoever ends up with the last playoff spot, Houston or Phoenix, should go a long way to determine who wins rookie of the year, Yao or Amare. I'd vote for whoever's team makes it. gioperation 04-05-2003, 01:02 AM looks like amare and phoenix will get that last playoff spot. I think that butler deserves it though his stats are very good for a rookie and boozer should come in 4th Garycolemanx 04-05-2003, 01:45 AM I see Yao and Amare doing the same thing there both great inside players that are very inconsistent. If I had to pick 1 of them it would be the one whos team gets into the playoffs, cause that guy was the difference maker since both teams were lottory teams before them. Honestly though. I dont think there is that big of a difference in the way they are playing right now, I think there dead even. Why poor Caron is picking up the slack, scoring 25 points and 3 steals a game only to come in 3rd. The NBA has got to get there act together. stkmtimo 04-05-2003, 04:43 PM I'd stick with Amare, he's also much faster than Yao who is clumsy and slow. Tim Garycolemanx 04-05-2003, 10:05 PM You can say that with anything though, Amare is fast, Yao is not, Amare is bad at blocking, Yao is great at blocking. Amare is stronger, Yao has a great Shot Selection. You can't win in between them they both play a power position, and they both end being equal. They Both Rebound the same and score about the same, also defend about the same. THats why they should just cancel each other out and Caron should be Rookie of the year. Thats sounds fair to me podstock 04-06-2003, 12:44 AM Tim --- you can't compare centers to forwards. Big difference b/t 6'11" and 7'6". Shaq is slow compared to the swift Kobe, lolol Yao's got very nice foot work, and good hands. Give him a couple more years. I remember hearing Charles Barkley yapping his mouth about how Yao would be a big bust; it was only a month or so into the NBA season that Barkley apologized on TV, lolol. Yao, if he can add more muscle, will do MAJOR damage, even with Shaq still in the league. Garycolemanx 04-06-2003, 01:45 AM You can compare them, you can compare anybody, we can compare MJ to Yao if we want, if they were both were MVP canidates. Still hight means nothing there both power positions which are easily comparable. lakerswiz 04-06-2003, 03:00 AM Originally posted by nyyanks I don't Yao has turned Houston from a Lottery team to a Playoff team, and is essential for Houston to win Yeah, so did amare.... tutall 04-07-2003, 09:37 PM i think amare deserves it.......he is more exciting and personally i would pay to see him play but not the big chinaman just because hes.....big....shawn bradley can slow him down so obviously his height is the reaon he is good......sure he has some great assists but no one is in his way to stop him radioheadfloyd 04-07-2003, 09:44 PM Originally posted by tutall i think amare deserves it.......he is more exciting and personally i would pay to see him play but not the big chinaman just because hes.....big....shawn bradley can slow him down so obviously his height is the reaon he is good......sure he has some great assists but no one is in his way to stop him That is discrimination against tall people! Let's give it to both of them! Garycolemanx 04-08-2003, 12:27 AM How about we stop talking about Yao and AMare and give it to the rightful owner Caron Butler. Poor Kid amare 04-12-2003, 08:56 PM like Kobe said, to compare amare and yao is no brainer when you see how's amare turn the suns ball club IMO, this will end up who bring the clun to playoff will win the ROY To consider butler, he is just being the key to score pts in heat and heat even lose more than last year, so why he should be considered a ROY? my 3 cents.. whitechocolate 05-16-2003, 03:00 AM i live in the phoenix area and i made it to most of the suns games and this youngster is something to watch. he sure knows how to get a crowd on their feet. hes so exciting to watch. he looks like he is out there to have fun. |
