I always wanted to know who has the best minor league system. I mean I always see studs in the Texas Rangers system like Blalock,Texiera and Pena. So if you have any insight I would really appreciate it thanks!!!!!! etoppsguy111 :hop:

The Mets--they've learned from their mistakes and are nurturing their hot prospect and have declined trading him--Jose Reyes. If he is successful, it'll put the Mets up there in credibility.

No Joke! When Casey Fossum is your best and only big pitching prospect your in trouble. Don't get me wrong, I like him. But other than Fossum it seems the cubbard is a bit dry for my tastes.

I'd say the As, Rangers, Yankees, Astros, and Twins have some of the better recent programs.

I ran out of money on my fantasy team and I needed a pitcher for less than 2 mil, so I picked up Fossum. I hate the BoSox, but he's not that bad... the Sox just need a little more depth, that's all.

As for farm teams, I'd go with the Mets.

We talking currently or over a period of time?

Currently, CIN hasn't been too shabby and over an extended period of time I'd have to think the Expos are in the team picture.

I also like the Mets system.

Hopefully, they can develop their young shortstop Jose Reyes into one of the premier shortstops in the league.

I hope so too goirish. As I've eluded to before, Reyes is the guy who will either catapult or decimate the Mets reputation for its minor league system.

The Phillies:

Burrell, Rollins, Duckworth, Myers, Byrd, Rolens, Lieberthal just to name a few...

I'd have to say the Mets have one of the best minor league systems, overall. However, this year, keep an eye on Philly... but expect to see most of those guys traded off as the major league team can't afford to keep them. Texas isn't that bad either... but the major league team needs massive work. Their problem is management won't take advantage of their younger talent.

my 3 cents

the dodgers have the best minor league system but they dont know how to bring up their players right. All and all though i think the mets have the best system.

the Dodgers don't have all that much talent to bring up in the first place... and the few that they do have, they usually end up ruining in the majors, or somehow losing in a trade... I wouldn't really consider them at all Puke...

The Pirates have a great minor league system with future stars like Sean Burnett, J.R. House, and Chris Duffy. The yanks also have a great system, but they develop their players to trade for current stars for the big leagues, rather than to play for the yanks someday.

I think the cubs or the pirates do the cubs are deep in pitching and the pirates have a lot of great prospects.

The Cubs have a great deep system. Angel Guzman, David Kelton, Brendan Harris, Andy Sisco, Bobby Hill, Hee Seop Choi, and Luke Hagerty just to name a few. The Indians are also stocked as they have gotten a lot of prospects through trades. Cliff Lee, Brian Tallet, Billy Traber, Ricardo Rodriguez, Francisco Cruceta, Grady Sizemore, Corey Smith, Travis Hafner, Pat Osborn, and Brandon Phillips.

once upon a time, the Dodgers had the best farm system.

i don't know what they did to change that, b/c now they ain't got crap.

However, in the history of MLB, since the rookie of the year awards have been given out, no team has come close to the number of ROY that the Dodgers have won

as a matter of fact, Dodgers had like 5 in a row in 1990s --- Hollandsworth, etc

Agreed.

The Yankees don't have a good farm system but they "hype" up players so that they can trade them for good players.

Most of the players from the minor leagues they have traded away recently have done nothing.
