I will begin trading cards soon and will go to buy the shipping supplies this weekend. want to know what is the best way to mail a card. Would a hard plastic toploader in a bubble envelope be good?

One last question, I want to collect Aaron Heilman cards starting with his rookie, any suggestions on which cards would be good to get first. I saw that topps or bowman has one with both Heilman and Reyes.

Thanks!

here is how I ship singles.

card in penny sleeve and toploarder
an empty junk toploader on each side within a team bag.
then place that in a bubble mailer.

ships perfectly everytime. I know some of you don't have a lot of junk toploaders around. I get them in bulk collections and have saved about 10-12 monster boxes of them over the years.

Soft Sleeve in a Toploader in a Bubble Mailer is the best way to go.

I'm glad to see a fellow Heilman collector on the board. I live in the town he grew up in. I have a lot of Heilman doubles if you need any cards.

i'm a mets fan, but think the only way heilman will get his due is if he's traded to a team that needs a mid-rotation starter. i remember seeing him play in 2004 and thinking he would be our star starter. i started collecting again this past May, so all i have for heilman is 2006 cards. which ones from rookie year are good ones to collect? i really like the reyes/heilman combo.

I have about 30 junk toploaders also that i have picked up in sales and trades from the site. the best way is the penny sleeve and toploader in the bubble mailer. thats is the most preferred way by people on this board.

I will say that soemtimes toploaders are loose or cards are thinner and without the team bag, the top of the toploader is open and may let the cards slip out.

put the card in the penny sleave and insert it into the toploader upside down. Then tape the top of the toploader. This keeps the tape from hitting the card and solves most of the problems.

I usually do this....
penny sleeve
top loader
tape over top loader and fold back one side for easy removal
samdwich between cardboard then tape (on high $$$ cards)
extra bubble wrap around card in case (always!)
bubble mailer

and whalla!
