Okay so I went to Kmart to pick up those $19.99 boxes that everyone is having good luck with. But I went there and they didn't have any.
But I did see these new boxes. They are made by the same company that makes all the boxes at places like Kmart.
Its green and silver and had 12 packs in it for only $9.99. That's better than the 8 packs that use to have for $9.99. Plus you could see EVERY pack you got.
So I bought one. Here is the break down.
1. 1998 Pinnacle Performers
-Arod
-Jeff Bagwell
This was the worse pack that was out of the 12 and I did pretty good with it.
2. 2001 Royal Rookies
- Brett Prinz Rookie Insert
I like these packs as they have rookies but most people don't collect them so they are pratically worthless.
3. 2002 Donruss Fan Club
Didn't get anybody and I hate these packs. Haven't busted anything out of them.
4. 2003 Upper Deck First Pitch
Only got 5 cards and they all sucked.
5. 2002 Donruss Originals
Nothing in these packs but I like the retro look.
6. 2002 Leaf Stars and Rookies
Again a pack with really nothing but commons.
7. 2002 Bowman
-Chris Snelling Rookie
Got a few rookies in this with Snelling being the best. Maybe some of the other rookies will be something down the road. That's why I like opening and keeping Bowman.
8. 2002 Ovation
-McGwire
-Nomar
-Griffey
-Ichiro
I like these packs and I did buy a box of these before. Did pretty good with it and I like the look of them.
9. 2002 Playoff Absolute Memorabilia
-Thome
-Brown
- Mo Vaughn
- Carlos Beltran
Pretty bad pack here but the regular cards are worth something so it wasn't a complete waste. I really like the look of these as well.
10. 2000 Paramount
-Vlad Guerrero
-Nomar Glove Card (not game used)
The glove card has a piece of replica game used glove on it. Looks great and I got one of these before of Bonds. Pretty good pack seeing as how Pacific usually isn't that good.
11. 2001 Studio
-Rolen
-Mo Rivera
-Chan Ho Park Game Used Jersey Card
-Alexis Gomez RC #D 356/700
Really good pack. The RC was $8 and the Jersey card was $6. Plus the cards look really good in the pack.
12. 2002 Fleer Tradition Update
-Arod
-Soriano/Alomar Game Used Card
This pack made the box VERY worth it. I got a game used card of Soriano (glad it wasn't of Alomar) in it and it books at $15. Plus I got a RC and an Arod card so that was pretty good as well.
Overall the 2 game used cards and the #D RC made this box well worth it for $9.99. Some people pay $10 to get 1 pack of 3 cards and get nothing but commons.
