So, it's a six-man league ($50 entry fee to make it interesting, winner take all). It's a custom ESPN league. Here's my roster:

QB: Carson Palmer (CIN)
RB: Larry Johnson (KC)
RB: Lamont Jordan (OAK)
WR: Chad Johnson (CIN)
WR: Torry Holt (STL)
TE: Randy McMichael (MIA)
DT: Marcus Stroud (JAX)
DE: Julius Peppers (CAR)
LB: Donnie Edwards (SD)
LB: Zach Thomas (MIA)
CB: Champ Bailey (DEN)
CB: Nate Clements (BUF)
S: Roy Williams (DAL)
K: David Akers (PHI)
P: Tom Tupa (WAS)

Bench:
Donovan McNabb (PHI)
Reggie Bush (NO)
Joe Horn (NO)
Kellen Winslow (CLE)

Considering an Urlacher for Zach Thomas trade. Good/Bad idea?

Looks pretty good....

If I were you though I would try and trade Mcnabb and Jordan for a better RB

Well, I'm glad I kept McNabb! Ha. Jordan, not so much.

However, one of my buddies in the league dropped Antonio Gates and Randy Moss for guys who have great stats from two weeks of play. I have no idea why he dropped them, but right on my roster they went. So, this is my team now:

QB: Donovan McNabb (PHI)
QB: Carson Palmer (CIN)
RB: Reggie Bush (NO)
RB: Larry Johnson (KC)
RB: LaMont Jordan (OAK)
WR: Chad Johnson (CIN)
WR: Torry Holt (STL)
WR: Laveranues Coles (NYJ)
WR: Randy Moss (OAK)
TE: Randy McMichael (MIA)
TE: Antonio Gates (SD)
DT: Ty Warren (NE)
DE: Julius Peppers (CAR)
LB: Brian Urlacher (CHI)
LB: Shawne Merriman (SD)
CB: Champ Bailey (DEN)
CB: Nate Clements (BUF)
S: Roy Williams (DAL)
K: Matt Stover (BAL)
P: Chris Gardocki (PIT)

Thoughts now? I feel like I have the league in my pocket.

Great is the wrong adjective.

Yes, he WAS a great receiver for a few years. But in the NFL these days, you can never tell if a guy is really DONE, FINISHED, DESTROYED.

With no one else worth covering, he draws all the coverage and has no QB to make tight throws.

He is a risky pick-up.

Rod Smith is better than him at this point in the season and with who is throwing in Denver.

your rbs are weak for a 6 man league, try trading for someone better, L. Jordans O Line cannot do anything right so far. Randy Moss was a good pickup, but Oaklands offense is absolutly terrible right now.

I'm proud of dropping Randy Moss in my six-man league.

I have:

Larry Fitzgerald
Terrell Owens
Antonio Bryant
Matt Jones
T.J. Housemanzadeh
Rod Smith

We only start 3 at a time, though. Not four.

You would rather have Matt Jones than Randy Moss??

According to my fantasy leagues scoring
Matt Jones has had 6 points
Randy Moss, only 3

I'm in the league to win, not to have name players.

Matt Jones is a great receiver on an under-performing offense. Even though he was injured the past two weeks, I have others to play.

when he is 100 %, he may be more valid that Antonio Bryant... who leads the NFC in yards.

Don't get me wrong, Moss is all fine and good - but he has fallen into the land of over-rated.

Randy Moss has only played 2 games, Matt Jones has played 3

you just dropped arguably the best receiver in the NFL for trash because you are impatient, wait until Oaklands offense starts clicking then see who has more points.

Oh my god...
Did you really just call Randy Moss the best receiver in the league?

How old are you? How long have you been watching football?

I'm sorry if this comes off rude, but what are you talking about?

When is the last time he led the league? Years ago. Yes, he set some records for the first few years of his career. He was wearing different colors and had a different guy throwing to him.

Arguably? What argument.

Fitz is better. TO is better. Marvin Harrison is better. Reggie Wayne is better. Shoot, Donte Stallworth is better. Antonio Bryant LOOKS better, but isn't. Steve Smith is better. Santana Moss could be better.

He is nowhere near the top 3 or 5.

Randy Moss talent wise is top 3 no doubt, Fitz isn't old enough to count, yes he had a good year last year I'm not saying he isn't good but he isn't better than Moss yet, I will admit TO is better, Marvin Harrison has Peyton throwing him the ball, Moss has Aaron Brooks, Stallworth has not had a 1,000 yard year yet and yes Steve Smith has had a few good years but compared to Randy Moss (his first 6 years in the NFL he had over 1,000 yards receiving)

Year Team G GS Rec Yds Avg Lg TD 20+ 40+ 1st
1998 Vikings 16 11 69 1313 19.0 61 17 20 14 51
1999 Vikings 16 16 80 1413 17.7 67 11 26 8 52
2000 Vikings 16 16 77 1437 18.7 78 15 25 8 58
2001 Vikings 16 16 82 1233 15.0 73 10 14 4 59
2002 Vikings 16 16 106 1347 12.7 60 7 19 6 66
2003 Vikings 16 16 111 1632 14.7 72 17 27 6 76
2004 Vikings 13 13 49 767 15.7 82 13 11 6 43
2005 Raiders 16 15 60 1005 16.8 79 8 15 4 46

you seem to hold a grudge against Moss, heck I'm not even a fan of him.

you are crazy he you dont think Randy moss is not a tops 3 WR, just look at those numbers.

His first six years are very kind to him...

His last two have been much less stellar.

And with no one throwing in Oakland... it will be rough sailing.

Randy Moss definitely has come down to earth a lot in the last 2 years but no way should you be dropping him from your roster. Keep him on your bench if he is struggling right now but don't give him away. He may not have a typical Moss year but it will be better than most receivers. Patience is a must with him. I would have dropped Jones(who has been hurt) or Smith instead.

Well I've made some moves in the past weeks. I'm currently in 1st Place in the league, 3-1 is my record. I guess I have to agree, Randy Moss is probably garbage at this point. I cut him loose. New roster:

Starting Lineup:
QB: Donovan McNabb
RB: Larry Johnson
RB: Laurence Maroney
WR: Torry Holt
WR: Laveranues Coles
TE: Antonio Gates
DT: Kelly Gregg (BAL)
DE: Julius Peppers (CAR)
LB: Brian Urlacher (CHI)
LB: Shawne Merriman (SD)
CB: Champ Bailey (DEN)
CB: VACANT (Sacrificed for extra bench player)
S: Roy Williams (DAL)
K: Nate Kaeding (SD)
P: Shane Lechler (OAK)

Bench:
QB: Carson Palmer
WR: Anquan Boldin
WR: Chad Johnson
RB: Reggie Bush
RB: LaMont Jordan

Improving?
