From what I was seeing, I thought these packs would be awesome. I'll be lucky to sell the Jones for $5, and the rest aren't really worth anything.

I guess it just ends up being another expensive pack that I get a decent card out of that won't pay for the pack.

They're just like every other random collector-made pack sale that's on Ebay. I figured I'd give this guy a try since he had such glowing feedback here, but he's exactly like all the others. Throws one decent "pretty card" in that won't sell, and just packs the rest with a bunch of non-numbered inserts. I'm not impressed.

Craigerman - lol its not like everyone has packs like yours. and with all those other packs you'd be lucky to get a whole lot that even adds up to the jones gu.

I dont know. I've made a lot of easy deals with Craig on this site in the past, and have never known him to be a complainer.

My question is this - can anyone make up these "packs" and sell them here? I thought there was a rule about grab bags?

Who are you to tell me to quit doing anything? And personally, I don't care if I made the BV back. You do that in almost any pack of cards.

If I tried to go sell what I got in these packs, I wouldn't make more than $6, meaning I'm out $10. That's why I'm a bit miffed. This guy claims to have awesome packs, and he doesn't. He's making a fortune off of suckers like me.

These packs are sold off site and are not eligible for SCF feedback.

Thanks Beans....no, I'm not usually a complainer. I don't usually buy these type of packs, either, because 99.999% of the time, they are a complete rip-off. I just gave this guy a try because he seemed to be really pulling in a nice reputation here, and I like to throw some business to regular SCF posters.

Yeah, I thought that you couldn't advertise grab bags here, either. Maybe something changed in the time I was away?

So any of us can basically do thisas long as its done off site? thats really cool. I think i may start something like this. Outside of craig's packs, I havent seen too many others, but I have seen a lot of people with a lot of positive things to say about mike's mojo.

I don't think he is claiming to have awesome packs. I can't find anywhere where he brags about awesome packs. There is alot of people on this forum to claim he has great packs. Personally I think your hits were much better than going to a card shop and spending $16 on 4 packs of cards.

Turd Ferguson
12-02-2006, 02:09 PM
Mike does put out decent stuff. It just appears that Craig isn't happy with what he got. The way I look at it, you spent $4 per pack and got a $25 jersey/ball card & a $12 RC. You could buy 4 packs at $4 per from the store and not get that.

12-02-2006, 02:11 PM
Right, and I didn't know that this hobby was about how much money you are down :D

Turd Ferguson
12-02-2006, 02:15 PM
I also just saw that the Braylon Edwards RC you got is $6. That's $43 bv for 3 cards & $16 spent, I'd love to get that kind of bv every time I bought 4 packs.

Craigerman
12-02-2006, 02:17 PM
Right, and I didn't know that this hobby was about how much money you are down :D

No its not, most of the time. When I rip a pack at the shop, I expect it to be hit and miss.

I guess I've just gotten ripped off by these so-called "mojo packs" enough that I'm getting sick of it.

Yeah, you're right. I guess everyone can't pull a $100 card out of a grab bag pack.

I guess I should just shy away from these in the future. They're great for the kids, but that's about it.

Turd Ferguson
12-02-2006, 02:22 PM
I can understand that you would have liked to have gotten a major hit, everyone would love that. You are guaranteed a gu'd or auto if you buy 3 packs, so for $11.97 most people are willing to take a chance on what they might get.

vikingfan101

I dont think there bad at all Craig, Take my example. I went to the card store the other day. dropped $40 cash, and $35 in tradein, and from all that all I got was a Marion Barber Jersey. a David Anderson Auto, a Vince Young Jersey Refractor /199 and a Travis Wilson jersey. So for $75, I got junk basically.

Id say you didnt do bad.

golfermatt91
12-02-2006, 02:25 PM
I think its a great deal especially since some packs are like 10$ now and most the time you get just base.

exactly. you really think that every pack you buy is gonna refund your money. Collecting cards sucks now a days because if someone doesn't pull a $1,000 card from a $3 pack, it is just an "okay" card. get real

Craig, I think you did ok too..... and I see your side as well, but for the piece of mind of knowing if you buy 3 packs your gonna pull a GU or auto, and a chance that it will be the 'biggie', makes Mike pretty popular among traders here. And you could trade the 3 towards something else that you feel might sell better...anyway, Mikes packs seem to be as fair a shake as you can get among packs like these, I'd trust him over most of the ebay packs any day

This is a nice good morning read....

Good morning everyone.

Craig, I am happy you received your packs but I feel bad that you are very unhappy with them.

Let me explain exactly what my product is about.

Don't you hate going to the hobby shop, dropping $100 plus on a box of hobby (of course to ensure it wasn't tampered with and so you have a pretty good chance of a HIT). But come to find out your HIT is something of a no name Rookie or some player who isn't good (Kyle Boller, Kevan Barlow, or Jon Kitna.) Who wants these guys? (base of these guys aren't even in my packs).

Or...

Don't you hate walking into a Retail store and all of a sudden you get an itch to bust some packs?? I am sure everyone here would agree that the majority of Retail is SEARCHED.

Well, for $3.99 I guarantee that packs do NOT have scrubs, and there is a GU/Auto with very fair odds of 1:3 (GUARANTEED if you buy 3).

Now, I have said this before....My packs are aimed towards people on a lower Sportscard Budget, people who enjoy COLLECTING, and busting packs with a great chance to pull GU/Autos.

And I would like you and everyone else here to know that I am NOT getting rich doing this. I could put a ton of low end crap in here but then people wouldn't be happy and I wouldn't be able to continue Mike's Mojo.

Any profit I make goes right back into the product in an attempt to create a higher quality product.

I am sorry that you were unhappy with your packs. You could look at it this way also.

The only way you could pull that KJ from a pack (other than a pack like mine) is if you purchased a pack of Absolute. Isn't that stuff over $40 per pack?? With MANY scrubs??

Again, I thank you for your purchase and I am sorry you were so unhappy with your packs.

Thank you,
Mike

EDIT: I am also sorry that you compare me to the crap that is sold on eBay. I always thought my product was better than that....

I would be happy with those packs for $16. You got the fun of opening packs, got a pretty nice hit, etc.....I dropped $20 in packs at a card shop recently, got 3 sh*tty RCs and an insert....after that, I really wished I had bought some Mike's Mojo!

If I don't have to completely pay out the *** for a DeMeco Ryans 1/1 tomorrow, I'll definately buy a few more packs of Mike's Mojo!

While drinking a Ice Cold Rolling Rock- I have been readin this thread and time for my quick 2 cents~

Craigerman - Dude, Gathering from what I read in your posts, you hope you pull something sweet in packs because you might want to "sell" it. Mikes Mojo seems to be more geared toward people who just wanna rip packs and pulla nice gu/auto, but not really to sell - to trade or keep.
Hell, I bought 24 packs of Mike Mojo and pulled the stated odds of 8 hits, (7 GU and 1 Auto)

Honestly, I was happy with that, spending almost $100 and getting 8 hits rather than $100 w/ 3 hits. from a regular hobby box is solid to me.

Craig - I dont think your a complainer, I have known you a while on this site, I just think that goin into the product, you really had a pessimist feeling going into it, but u did anyway cause,, well, they are grab bags of some sort and we have ALL and i mean ALL tried grab bags atleast 1 time. If they arent to your liking, no biggy, just stick with hobby boxes.

PS:: Too bad I have that Kevin Jones allready, otherwise you would have a PM coming lol

Stang81 - Mike, I like your product, to me, its as good as its gonna get for a grab bag type product.

PS:: And whats wrong w/ John Kitna?? , Damn must everyone pick on the Lions??? Havent we suffered enough

Hello Rob,

On Kitna....who collects him (unless they are TRUE Lions fans??) Sure his #s are pretty good, but he isn't winning games.

Trust me, I can't wait for tomorrow!!! I am hoping the Lions will win, but chances are they won't.

GO LIONS!!!

Thanks

Sorry guys, I guess I was just venting on the whole grab bag idea a little. I got up on my soapbox a bit, and started rolling. No, I barely ever sell anything. I definitely lose money in this hobby. I barely ever get any kind of decent hit. I guess I was looking for my luck to change a little on these, but it didn't. Stang, thanks for the reply. I'm still not realy happy with my pulls, but at least your response put it in a bit better perspective for me. I guess I did go in with a pessimistic attitude toward grab bags, hoping that these packs would turn that attitude around.

Craig,

What could you have pulled that would have made your experience with Mike's Mojo more enjoyable??

You got a McNabb RC Insert (he isn't a scrub), you got a Turkey Red RC of Braylon Edwards (c'mon, he plays on the Browns.... Turkey Red was one of the hottest products last year and Edwards has been injured. He could be a real solid player in the future).

And the Kevin Jones...he is having a solid season, and the product that it is from is considered a "Premium Product".

To me it seems like ONLY the Major Mojo would have made you happy. Here are some #s to consider.

For every batch of 50 packs I release, there are 17 MOJO packs.

So, lets say that 17 people each buy 3 packs. Aren't 1:17 odds pretty good to hit the Major Mojo looking at it from that point of view?

I cannot afford to have 16 unhappy customers versus 1 Happy customer, so I do try to ensure that even if a Major Mojo isn't pulled that it will still be something that my customer will be happy with.

Again, I am sorry that your experience was not more enjoyable for you. I do thank you for your purchase, I really appreciate it.

Thank you again,
Mike

You're right, 99.999% of the time they are rip offs! I tried a couple on ebay and the best thing I ever got was a SAGE Omar Jacobs auto (lol is he even on an NFL team?) and a crappy Edge game ball worth like $7. I should also mention I got a rare short print David Pollack RC #d to like 300 but of course it was after he broke his neck.

I've tried Mike's stuff and got a so-so pull like you. But I will say this about Mike's product, it is most def the best grab bags I've ever recieved. Not to mention some of the pulls Ive seen people get just on this website (some dude pulled like a Joe Montana or Joe Namath Auto I cant remember which Joe it was lol)....And while you may not get that special card you want , you do get your moneys worth in some shape or form. He seems to be a nice guy too which is always a plus in my book.

The packs he makes are great, and you knew exactly what you were getting into. It's much different than those ebay grabbags, where they put up pictures of MJ rookies or Peyton autos and really send you RCs of DJ Hackett...

Mike has the best grab bags around, and you'll find that most people on this site that have bought some from him are in agreement.

Like has been said, you got a lot more BV in cards, than you put into the pack purchase. That rarely happens at the store.

Just cause you didn't get the major mojo (not sure what it is...don't keep up on basketball), doesn't mean that you should go and pout about it.

You got all cards of stars, and that in itself should be something. No nonamers in the mix.

Mike can't put a $50 card in every pack, and with the odds he said, 1:17, those are the best odds around of pulling something valuable out of a grab pack.

Don't let one bad experience ruin your time. Try his stuff again. I've bought from him twice, and been very pleased both times...he certainly has the best stuff for the price he gives. Where else can you get a $100 card for $4 at 1:17 odds?

Like I said, I would try again, almost everyone is always pleased, and they enjoy what they get. So don't let not getting the major mojo get you down, you'll have your day. Everyone does at some point.

I think Mike's top of the line if you're into that type of thing, but I'm inclined to agree that for those with the experience (not kids, for the most part) and disappointment in buying ANY packs- SINGLES are the way to go. But there are definitely more people out there in line to buy lottery tickets than there are shoveling snow and mowing lawns, hoping to pick up extra cash easy. Moral: When someone offers lots for sale on here and takes the time to list every card and every BV, and provides scans as well... the CHOICE is in your hands! Which one seems wiser or more "fun?" Along those lines, playing chicken with a Mack truck may be "fun," but driving cautiously to your destination can't have the same worst possible outcome. So simply stated: Weigh your options. All things considered, if the pack option is your bag, Mike's is the best.
