I'm irritated right now so this is a useful way for me to vent without banning people (kidding people....just kidding :new_silly  ). Anyways, I was wondering what some of your pet peeves are related to the hobby/trading/etc. Here are a few of mine:

- Tradelists that are made with NO rhyme or reason (like all mixed sports, no order whatsoever)....example:

2006 Delanie Walker Leaf Rookie
2001 Anthony Thomas SPX Auto
2004 Chrome refractor Iverson
03 2 color patch of barber
02 Frank thomas auto topps

-Seeing a box break and the person say "I only pulled these losers...all FT/FS ...and THEN when someone has an interest in one of the losers, the loser is all of a sudden the same calibur as Favre or Manning :icon_roll

-Seeing a collector that wants to trade for ANY and ALL Colts (just an example) but that really breaks down to only Manning, Harrison or Wayne.

-Seeing someone search dilegently for the latest 200 yrd/3 TD running back for their PC only to find this player on the same someones tradelist 3 weeks later because they only rushed for 50 yards.

-Watching the masses trade at "ebay value" for the High end stars but at Beckett BV for the losers (I mean hey...if they traded the losers at "ebay value" the cards would only be worth $2 in trade, right?).

PLEASE NOTE...this has NOTHING to do with any particular people in mind. I have been on trade boards for many years and these are just the things I have seen over that time that bug me.

Let's keep this non personal...I am just curious about others pet peeves in the hobby

Peace~
Rima

all of the above!!!

people try and make online trading waaaaaay more difficult than it is.....im sure that if you had a trade night at your house, you wouldn't have to call each other up 10 times over the next week to "finalize a trade"

im still trying to finish up a deal that was agreed on 4 MONTHS AGO (and thats not a stretch, thats the honest truth!!)

my pet peeve is when you make a deal to buy something(something you really need say a desmond mason exquisite auto patch /25), you and the seller agree, you send the money, you dont hear from him for almost about 2 days and he decides to leave it on ebay, but for an extra 20 hell send it to you. yeah this happened to me.

but seriously it bugs me when people back out of deals.

The mixed up tradelists do bug me some. But the waiting for someone for days to get back to you on a PM sucks to.

Yeah I hear ya here is one of mine. I just had a guy offer me a non numbered Babe Ruth bat card for 250.00 when the card books 150.00. Now im not a violent guy but it makes me want to get on a plane and find this guy and slap him about the ears and face! LOL

How about vague thread titles?

"Mark Prior"

Well, do you want Prior, have Prior to trade, happen to be Prior? Add a fricken word and clear everything up...

I would have to agree with Rima about the list. I try to keep my pretty simple listed by Auto and player then maybe switch it up a little later to team breakdown.

My biggest pet peeve,
1) listing of just the last name, especially if there is more than one player with that last name. ie... Barber, Williams and so on.

2) Not listing the make and year of the card.

3) Making a post and then not recoginzing everyone that responds. As a matter of courtesy you should at least say, "No thanks but thanks for asking or something like that.

When you ask for something, say please look at my tradelist and stuff, and then they respond with 'didn't see anything'. Could at least say "Thanks for the interest, but didn't see anything I could use at the moment." Just sounds ignorant and rude. I don't know.

Regards,
Ryan

I just recently had this happen
There was a member looking for a player and I had a auto rc of the player BV60. I asked if he has some of my wants and if not was he buying. He replied with "$5 Dlvd" As a man of faith it was hard not to be insulting back.
I also remember a person was looking for some KC Chiefs to surprise a family member that had done a really nice thing for them. I offered some of my cards including some nice in person sigs that I had gotten of len Dawson and Marcus Allen along with some GU. The person turned them down not realizing that if they wanted them I would have sent them for FREE.

When people post buy threads but make it clear they will not check buckets.

Pretty ridiculous IMO, what's wrong with checking someones bucket to give them an idea of what you want...Maybe they are just lazy? Idk...:confused0024:

I have a comment on this one. I will sometimes posts something like this "$50 PayPal for BEST auto lot". I will say in that post that I am not looking at buckets. I think it is less time consuming for them to make an offer than for me to go through their entire bucket copying and pasting every card I like. Then they have to click on all the links I post and find out the book values on all the cards I like. Then we go back and forth trying to figure out a deal. But thats just my opinion.

Here are my Pet Peeves:

1. PMs sent but not replied to

2. Members who believe Favre cards are made of gold

3. Members who sell at 70% or more book value

Just want to give a big shout out to mixedupmitch. Its always nice to find a member with plenty of Favre cards I need and even nicer when I get a deal like this

Great post, I agree with just about everything mentioned so far. I have a few to add...

-It bugs me when people just post scans and don't describe the card. Some users, myself included, have dial-up and don't have time to wait for the scan to load.

-People ask me to check there bucket for a certain card without telling me what the card is, who the player is, etc. Again, the dial-up factor comes into play. I try not to be lazy, it's just I don't have time to wait 15 minutes just to look at one card when there are several others I need to respond to.

This one is horrible but I hate the fact that eBay took it away from me. I used to bid up a bidders other auctions if they outbid me out of sheer spite and frustration and I can't do that now with the new system.

1. Trying to sell cards in the buying/selling thread. You offer cards at below ebay prices to interested parties and they still don't want them. The beauty of it is after nobody wants to buy, I list them anyway and get much more than I offered them for, even with the fees.

2. Everyone that thinks they should be able to buy cards at 50% off current ebay prices because if you sell them on SCF, you don't have to pay fees.
