Let's have some fun and hopefully make one person happy . I am going to give away on ebay one baseball card worth up to $25 to somebody that uses this forum. No strings attached!!!

Here's how it will work:
1. Reply to this thread with the baseball card you want me to give away.
2. On Thursday, March 6th at 9:00pm EST I will pick one of the cards you listed (that i have obviously) and post it on ebay (my ebay id is = consideritsold).
3. In the item description I will put the phrase "Sportscard Forum Members Only" so you know that is the correct auction.
4. I will put a "Buy It Now" for $100 (so no other ebayer will dare try to buy it) but rest assured, you will not have to pay me anything, not even shipping. IT"S ALL FREE!!! The first person to use the "Buy It Now" will get the card.
5. I have pretty much anything from 1981-1990 (including all the rookies like Mcgwire, Clemens, Mattingly,Sosa etc.) all griffey rookies, maddux, Johnson, and 1998-2002 cards. Sorry, I don't have any etopp cards.

Please tell me what you think of this idea. I don't mind some constructive criticism. I hope this works out !!!
Good luck to all!!!
Eric

Eric,

I like the idea, but why pay the ebay fees when you don't have to? There might be a better way to go about this. I'm personally a big fan of graded cards, if you have them. That'd be an awesome prize to give away.

I also like jdfan123's suggestion of the '85 Clemens. The '85 McGuire would be pretty sweet too! Or how about the Puckett rookie from '85? Of course Topps would be preferred on these. Or maybe the Ripken rookies from '82? How about Mattingly's rookie?

I'll be watching... :-)

Why don't you put it in private auction @1 BIN that way you can avoid most of the fees. and that way we will have to give you our user names to bid on the item. and noboby on ebay can bid with out emailing you first or coming here.

If you need to know how to do that I can walk you through it.

I did that for a couple golf auto I had, but the buyer and I had worked out a deal already I got like 10 email wanting to use the BIN on it.

How about a 1986 Donruss Rafael Palmeiro who will get his 500th homer in May. Of course, the 89 Upper Deck Griffey would be very appealing and the 89 UD Randy Johnson is getting there too.
This idea of yours is great but why give the card out for free? I guess I should just say thanks for doing this and wait till 9:00.

Welcome in just-for-cards! :)

Did Palmeiro have an 86 Donruss card? I thought 87 was his first.

I think he had a 86 Donruss Traded. I don't have a book in front of me but I'll check later.

1987 is the correct year

Ok, thanks. It's a cheap rookie now and maybe even later.
Palmeiro needs 3 more years to get to 600 homers and then that 87 Donruss will sell itself.
Then there's the 90 Leaf Frank Thomas that I've always wanted. Maybe the Big Hurt will do some damage again!
