trot nixon needs to learn you don't dive for a ball with 2 outs and run the risk of giving up extra bases if you miss it.

what was the situation during which that inside-the-park homer occurred?

Was it a close game?

What inning was it?

Were there runners on base?

Did the fielder realistically have a chance to catch it, or was he basically flailing for it?

If a team was up 10-0 in 6th inning or later, and there's no one on base, I'd want my fielders to be diving for balls.

no one was on base, but with 2 outs, I was first off played right field and we were taught to be aggressive, but sometimes you have to take it on 1 bounce keep the runner at first instead of possible putting the running in scoring position. Now I don't know if it was today or yesterdays game, watch it on the mlb.com a few minutes ago.

14 seconds it took him too... that's fast! I know my best time to 1st base was like 4 1/2 seconds alone!
