jjfversion1 03-08-2007, 08:40 PM Nice draft RChurch, but I am a little angry that the commisioner of this league decided to do a new draft time without letting anyone know and on such short notice. Please tell him that I will not be competing in the league and to delete me from the managers list. Kinda bummed out.
Thanks,
John
rchurchward 03-09-2007, 11:32 AM Sorry but once the draft has concluded, thats not possible. He didn't change it, Yahoo had to because we couldn't complete it at first because we had an odd number of people. Not his fault.
paulvons 03-09-2007, 12:02 PM I just received my team through an autopick draft. I'm in a 12 team roto scoring league. I'll appreciate any advice I can get. Thanks

How'd I do?
JayJagFan 03-16-2007, 05:44 PM Just drafted this team last night. I'm a bit satisfied. 12 team league, head to head. I have a couple more drafts coming up soon.
C-Johnny Estrada-I have never really viewed catcher as much of a priority unless I'm getting a Joe Mauer or Victor Martinez type. Estada had a solid .302 avg and 71 RBI, but is other wise average at best.
1B-Richie Sexson-This was a best player available type of pick. Good HR and RBI, 34 and 107 respectively, but poor in other categories. I'm going to try and ship him for some outfield or RP help. I also have Lyle Overbay who I would put in his place if he is traded, who I believe is incredibly underrated, hitting .312 with 22 HR, 92 RBI, and 82 R last season.
2B-Josh Barfield-A solid .280, 13 HR, 58 RBI, 72 R, and 21 SB last season, all numbers in which I have no doubt will go up with him being traded to the Indians. San Diego is the worst hitters park in MLB, and the Padres had a weak lineup, so his HR, RBI, R, and AVG could defintiely go up. I believe the SB will improve because of the Indians better lineup in a hitters park will make pitchers pay more attention to the hitters than the baserunners.
3B-Miguel Cabrera-Do I even need to say anything? .319 AVG, 112 R, 26 HR, 114 RBI. I also god Chad Tracy as a late round steal backing him up or to possibly use as trade bait, who hit a solid .281 with 20 HR, 80 RBI, and 91 R.
SS-Hanley Ramirez-Hanley will be filling most of my speed and run needs with 51 SB and 119 R last season. Also hit a solid .292 with 17 HR and 59 RBI last season. I also drafted Jhonny Peralta, who I believe is going to have a comeback season after losing a lot of weight in the offseason and getting LASIK eye surgery. I may end up trading Ramirez if Peralta does really well.
OF-Magglio Ordonez-Solid bat to have, .298, 24 HR, 104 RBI.
OF-Raul Ibanez-I believe him to be one of the most underrated players in MLB. .289, 33 HR, 123 RBI, and 103 R last season. Just about as good as Jason Bay, who goes 5-6 rounds ahead of him!
OF-Gary Matthews Jr.-I picked him in the last round of the draft because I needed another outfielder. He's a solid pick for last round, hitting .313 with 194 H last season and 102 R. I am a little weary of those stats though, he seems like he could be a one hit wonder, and the whole steroid things make me question him. Kenny Lofton is on FA, who hit .301 with 32 SB last season. I may pick him up, or trade for an outfielder.
Util-Travis Hafner-Very underrated. I personally think he's better than David Ortiz. Hit .308 with 42 HR, 117 RBI, 100 R last season AND he missed almost the entire last month of the season! He will have 50 HR's, mark it down.
SP-John Lackey-Another underrated guy I've always liked. 217.2 IP, 190 K, 3.56 ERA, and 1.26 WHIP. The only thing that concerns me is the 13 Wins.
SP-CC Sabathia-Pretty much same situation as Lackey. 192.2 IP, 172 K, 3.22 ERA, and 1.17 WHIP, but a concerning 12 wins.
RP-Joe Nathan-Don't really need to say much here, 36 SV, 95 K, 1.58 ERA,0.79 WHIP, and also a pleasantly surprising 7 Wins.
RP-Joe Borowski-Clevelands new closer, not sure if I trust him, but he did have 36 SV last season. I may end up trading for another RP.
P-Erik Bedard-An impressive 196.1 IP, 15 W, 171 K, 3.76 ERA, and 1.35 WHIP in a tough AL East. Another solid, underrated pickup.
P-Rich Harden-Kind of a risky pick, but if he is healthy, he will post Cy Young numbers.
P-Anibal Sanchez-I don't really like picking younger pitchers, but I couldn't pass up his 10 W and 2.83 ERA.
BN-Joel Zumaya-Wish he was Detroit's closer, and he may very well be by the end of the season, and amazing 97 K and 1.94 ERA.
BN-Daniel Cabrera-My sleeper for this season, if he gets his walks down, he will be dangerous.
