Any suggestions? I thought maybe trading a hitter for a decent pitcher.... what do you guys think?

I dont think you have a choice but to trade for a Starting Pitcher. Kazmir is good but be careful of his shoulder problems from last year and Petitte is average at best these days. The only problem you may have is that since this is an 8 team league all the teams are gonna be stacked with hitters and you may have a hard time finding someone to deal with.

Pretty decent. I would have Sexson starting though, if you have a DH in your leauge. Obviously cant bench Howard for him.

very nice hitting but hitting can only win you so many categories

defintly trade to get some more pitching
kazmir is the best pitcher there and you cant have him being your ace

Why do you only have 5 pitchers anyway? Is that how your league is set up?

ya I really really earlly in the draft so it drafted most of my pitchers...... We start five and I think can have a few backups..

if it's an 8 team league just be active on the waiver wire. you should be able to snag a guy thats decent.

Is this a rotisserie or head to head league?If its head to head your going to get owned pretty bad.When it comes to scoring for either type of league you'll be in the top 2 for each offensive category besides steals and blow people way in the categories each week(h2h) or overall (rotisserie) which in turn will only get you 8 points.Keep in mind that even if you are in first place and get X amount of more homerun or rbi's and such than your nearest opponent, you still only recieve 1 extra point.You'll most likely lose in every pitching category.My suggestion is you start attempting to trade heavily for a stronger starting pitching rotation,especially if someone like giambi isn't even a starter.Could you post what your draft order was?

Another suggestion would be to try to get jose reyes to solidify some of your other categories which may suffer.I don't know how intelligent your fellow leaguers are but IMHO Reyes is probably THE top offensive player for a fantasy league.He does well in every offensive category, something that few in the league can do.Other examples are Soriano and Vlad(whom you already have).I got extremely lucky in my draft and I ended up picking last(10th) and I was fortunate to get both soriano and reyes with the 10th and 11th pick in the draft.
