I am not a hockey expert (heck, I don't even know what icing is); but I am enjoying this Mighty Ducks bandwagon that I just jumped on.

For the hockey experts out there, who are they playing next, and do they have a good shot, considering they blew out Red Wings; dominated the Stars, and have the hottest goalie in Jiggy!!

I wish, but I will have to say No

Ducks will probably meet the Canucks

Canucks in 6

The Devils will beat the Sens in 6

and The Devils will beat the Canucks in 7

If they keep playing like they have been they will. Remember it is all about the goalie in the playoffs and Giguere is playing well. Detroit and Dallas are just as good as the rest of the competition they will face.

Radiohead...exactly!

Only in hockey can one red-hot player take his team all the way to the title.

Heck, Tracy McGrady was averaging something like 40+ points in games 1-3 against Detroit, and they promptly shut him down in games 4-7. Detroit went on to win the series.

I don't know if they can, and I currently hate hockey, but they got my cheers!

And the Ducks just scored their 4th goal.

holy cow!!

it's only the 2nd period.

Wild is now changing their goalie.

Meanwhile Giggy continues on.

Ducks won't win. Devils win it all!

Giggy red hot! As hot as molten lava spewing from a volcano.

3rd consecutive shut out.

I think he also broke the record for most minutes in play-offs not allowing a goal.

Ducks up 3-0.

Oh boy, am I fully jumping on to the Ducks bandwagon.

lolol

The Ducks have only lost one game? Giguere is probably averaging less than a goal a game? This is total dominance so far and I do not see how they can be stopped unless Brodeur gets just as hot.

Don't be surprised if Minnesota still doesn't make a series out of this. They didn't come this far for nothing!

I think the wild season is over and they have had they fun sort of like pitt(lol, iggy) and the way gonzaga does every year, but eventually you will find that they are overmatched.

The Wild came back from 3-1 deficits in the 1st and 2nd round --- that's incredible!.

But they ran into Giggy.

And I don't know if they have the energy to come back from 3-0.

In the first 2 rounds, the were on the road, so even though losing, they still had home games left.

In this round, the Wild has home court, and lost those home games.

No matter how you slice it, I think it's over.

I want Minnesota to beat Anaheim.

Second, way too much hype on Giguere. He's not the greatest Playoff goalie in the last 10 years like they were talking about on ESPN - Martin Brodeur is!

look...no one cares right now about the best goalie in the past 10 years.

it's the Mighty Ducks who are in vogue, and deservedly so.

When was the last time your NJ Devils swept #1 ranked team, then beat beat #2 ranked team, and now lead 3-0 in the 3rd round, all WITHOUT homecourt advantage?

Giggy deserves all the hype, b/c he's PROVEN what he can do in the play-offs.

I don't know much about Brodeur, and I don't care to.

But has Brodeur ever had 3 shut-outs in a playoff series?

It is irrelevant that Brodeur is the best goalie in the past 10 years. That's not going to get him the Stanley Cup.

And by the way, there's Dominic Hasek, amongst other great goalies.

stkmtimo

Yes it is. I don't care about Giguere because he's hype as well. Yeah, he's proven it in a few games, big crap. Brodeur has won two Stanley Cups and will have a third this year. Case closed. Devils win.

lol. Time will tell. Only a week or so more, and the Stanley Cup winner will be revealed.

That wait isn't that long.

Why don't you guys put a cards where your mouth is and stop the fighting,

I think they both suck, LOL

I will act as the moderator, you both send me the cards and I will send to the winner which ever wins.

This means pod and tim...

Ditto on what Phil says, low on hockey cards. Would have done it other wise. Oh well!

well why don't you guys put up a baseball rookie, or something similiar like a $5 or $10 card and the winner get them, we can actually open this up to others I am willing to put up a few cards and I know nothing about hockey but hell it looks like it will be east v/s west int eh finals.

and following that damn hockey put drives me nutz, that is why I just to see those guys get knocked up against the wall all night and throw the gloves down and handle their business.

I'll pass. Not interested in giving up cards where I have no control of the outcome.

Perhaps if we had a Jeopardy-like tournament to test knowledge of sports, then perhaps we could play for rookie cards.

But, I have no input, good or bad, on whether or not Ducks win or lose.

giguere is having one of the best playoff performances ever by a goalie, so he deserves the hype. unfortunately brodeur is having an excellent playoffs, too , but he is once again overshadowed by another goalie. brodeur definitely deserves his share of praise.

podstock
05-16-2003, 07:21 PM
well, the best thing is to hope Brodeur meets Giggy in the Finals -- then there can be no question as to who's the better goalie currently

stkmtimo
05-16-2003, 08:01 PM
The obvious choice is Brodeur. So much more experience and he also has a great supporting cast.

Looks like Giguere's record is done with. Andrew Brunette of the Wild scored 4:37 into the game. Granted the Wild might not win, but the Ducks will face that Devils or Senators (likely Devils). They can kiss their winning aspirations goodbye.

Ducks have done it again.

3 times they've not had home-ice advantage; all 3 times they've won --- 2 by sweeps.

Now, who's next !!!

if the ducks meet the devils in the finals who will have homecourt adv?

stkmtimo

I believe the Devils, but not sure. They'll win it all. 2-1 at Ottawa.

Tim

Whoever wins the East has home-ice advantage over the Ducks.

Which won't matter, b/c the Ducks have destroyed #1 Red Wings, blasted #2 Stars, and dominated #6 ranked Wild.
All of this while going on the road and not having home-ice advantage

stkmtimo

Don't worry, the Devils have a team of proven stars, not like Yzerman or Hull, but efficient players who get the job done with a great goalie. The Ducks success stops in NJ.
