Oh well the dream is over

the guy cancelled the auction as I was the high bidder at a great steal.

I was so pissed, but I understand, when he paid an avg of 6.70 and to sell for less than 4. Wow .

LOL... I had that happen to me once and I was MAD as hell. It's a very dirty practice in my mind and if I were you I'd go over to the etopps forums and post his eBay ID over there!

he is really easy to find, he has the largest % of them acccording to CT, and by the way you have surpassed that other guy with the % of hinske's.

I am pretty sure that is already posted as there were a few heavy hitters in the mix, you know the worse them is when I was checking them, I was slowing seeing the bidding come down and I was something is odd about this and then I refresh the last time and notice there were no bidders. LOL and then closed, and then I cursed him.

I don't have CT stats anymore so I have no clue what I'm listed as far as the Hinske's. I know their number is off by 1 though and my buddy has almost double between 2 accounts than me.

Isn't illgeal by ebay to cancel an auction, that has been bid on. I thought they had to honor the highest bidders bid. Just as long there wasn't a reserve not met.

tredwing - I think it's against ebay policy to cancel with bids on. Even if it's not, I think it's crap. If you want a guarenteed minimum, pay the price for a reserve, or sell outside of the auctions. Ebay should stop people from doing this (but won't). Legally, a no reserve auction is a binding contract once a bid has been placed.

it is only binding for the buyer, not the seller, the seller doesn't have to sell, but the buyer could be taken to court and made to pay by law.

We should start sending people hat mail when that happens. Lets just flood son=me Aholes mail box next time it happens to one of us. It would be legal, if we all do it under sellers questions.

We could ask the seller why he such an A@@ Hole!
Heck Ryan we could start with this weenie puffer than screwed you on the Snellings.

yeah that would be cool, not hate mail though, that's illegal, but the same question over and over.

While it is sad to see that the auction was cancelled he had all the right to do so. There are several reasons someone can cancel an auction. Maybe he had an offer outside of E-Bay for the whole lot? Or maybe he had an offer for some of them outside of E-Bay? I know I had cancelled an auction before due to someone local wanted to pick up the lot. It had bids on it and I explained what the situation was. Did I do wrong? I don't believe so? I have had auctions close on me also. Did I like it? In some cases no. So all I did wsa just asked the seller a simple question of why and with the people that I have dealt with they were very nice about my asking. One was a person that was helping a friend sell his J.R. Redmond cards. There were cards in the auction that I wanted. Then next thing I know the auction was cancelled. I e-mailed the person and then I got in contact with the one that was selling the cards. I ended up doing a great trade with him since I kept my cool. All I am trying to say is that most of the time there is a good reason behind a cancelled auction and if inquired about the correct way a deal may still happen if it be a sale or a trade. :)

Oh I am cool with it, but did I like it heck no I was about to make out like a bandit, even though it is only snelling, etopps are etopps and all he needs is a sept call up and opps the PB's are met.
