As most people can tell or know about me I am an Edgerrin James collector. That means I want any and every card I can find of his, including base. Now my question is, where are all the other player collectors?? I see threads upon threads titled "Looking for Reggie Bush....", I then open it up and it says Looking for Reggie Bush autos lmk what you have. Is there anyone left that still collects specific players and is actually looking for EVERYTHING of them, not just autos, rcs, or GU? It really bugs me to see people say they want everything of so and so and I list base and inserts and they respond w/ "Sorry, just want autos and 1/1s" Well last time I checked that was not EVERYTHING of that player, lol. Anymore player collectors left and if so, who do you collect?? Maybe I'll have something for you, if you are actually looking for EVERYTHING of them. :biggrin:

i know what you are saying, i collect EVERYTHING of adrian peterson, mark clayton, and reggie brown

That'll be tough and expensive, lol. Although I have so many Edgerrins that it was becoming harder to find some that I needed that I could afford so I started picking up Clinton Portis stuff since he became a Redskin and they are my favorite team.
By the way I have a couple #'d Browns for trade. Shoot me a PM and maybe we can work something out.

i totally hear ya on the player collecting issue...i collect everything of derek hagan but the trades i want to do for him are too "low end " for people to accept so now i am selling my doubles and my low end and buying the stuff i need...it is a tough world for player collectors especially of less valued players i guess (and pc's with little money LOL)

that's exactly what im sayin!...except with my player even the gu's and autos aren't "worth it" LOL

I try to make my trades $10 or so, but if its cheap base and I am dying to find it I'll make the smaller trade. I hit a few small shows in my area or buy from sportslots so I usually get my base from there.

sweetdizzel- Thats a nice Portis but I don't buy any of his stuff unless its a great deal. I save my money for Edgerrin stuff b/c he is my focus.

Yeah, most of the higher end collectors are just looking for the hot player and any good high end auto....I am a high end guy however there are certain players I collect everything of: Mike Vick, Steven Jackson....I also have a few smaller player collections: Chad Johnson, Clinton Portis, Kellen Winslow 2, Alge Crumpler, Deangelo Hall

I used to grab any high end player with a valueable card. now im settling down on just Raider players. and my most interest(for the moment) is JaMarcus Russell, i dont like college cards too much, so im interested in any in a Raider uni.

Im an Emmitt collector. Although now this becomes hard as Emmitt cards are very highly priced.
Also starting to grab Tomlinson too.

I have two main focuses as a player collector.. Brad banks and Fred russell.. Neither played in the nfl..so they only have 117 cards (banks) and russell has (23).. I am down to the final 12 on the banks cards but it is all #1/1 and low #ed cards..it's going to be really hard to complete. It must be really hard to get every card of a guy still playing.. i commend all of you.. I will let you know if i come across a rare card of some of the players listed in earlier posts.

Good, I'm glad to see there are some real player collectors left. Not just a bunch of people looking for the cards of the last guy that rushed for 200 yards and so forth.
Bubbabronco- You picked some good ones, the highest total is 125 cards, the lowest amount Edgerrin has from any year is like 330, lol. I am 2 cards short of having 50% of his second year cards (578 total) so its tough to find those ones now.

I collect everything Marshawn Lynch...kinda tough to get his stuff right now becasue of all the hype about him....I also collect everything Maurice Stovall...and he really isnt that hard to get haha

Any former University of Colorado Buffs players that I don't have yet... and yes I collect all cards including base of those players :)

I've got some of the players listed on my site. I'll look to see if I have anything in Edge...

I am also a player collector of Sam Aiken, Manny Lawson and Chris Weinke for my wife. Also have a collection of TA McLendon as well. Not only do I look for each individual card, but also take dupes of all numbered cards...my closest completed collection is Sam Aiken. I have 89 of the 128 that is out there. But the beauty of my collections is not the individual cards, but the collection as a whole which can be seen in my tradelist...

I've been working on the Brian Dawkins master collection for a bit over a year now and its coming along nicely but has been slowing down a bit lately for me, I'm actually having a hard time getting this years and last years base. I collect anything and everything and doubles, triples whatever, I actually have 46 of 1 of his classic RC haha. Anyway, its nice to see some true player collectors still out there.. I'll see if I can find anything for you guys to help out

Biggest Garret Wolfe collector you could find, right here. :) If he is on a card, Im doing whatever I can to get it. Im sure there are others out there that collect him too, but I am just....nutty, when it comes to him.

I collect Delanie Walker everything. I have 70/97 cards made (NOT counting 1 of 1's or Press Plates) but I do have 4 plates as well.

One of these days I will have them all :)

also collect Dan Marino but his cards are getting rather expensive in the card shops

this is a great thread. i collect the guys in my thread and attempt to get as many base, inserts, and parallels that i can. basically, i pick a favorite college player each year and try to follow his NFL career. this year will be a bit tougher since the player i followed, calvin johnson, became so high profile. but as a Ga Tech guy, I have to try and stick w him as much as possible.

To get a complete list you can just make a My Collections on beckett.com and then search for all cards by a player name. Just enter the players name but leave the other fields blank (year, set name, etc). It will then make a huge list and you can select them all and it will tell you the amount. I only have to do it for 07 now b/c Edgerrin's total number of 99-06 cards won't change anymore, lol.
