Ipster 03-06-2003, 06:35 PM Who would you take if you were building a team? In terms of a young superstar?
- Wade Miller
- Eric Hinske
- Joe Crede
- Ty Wigginton
- Orlando Hudson
- Mark Bhurle (or whatever)
- Fill in name here
IggyWH 03-06-2003, 07:08 PM I'll take Hinske, but if you read the eTopps boards on here you know why!
mtduff4208 03-06-2003, 07:22 PM id go with hinske also but buhrle is good also
I think Wigginton will be a surprise
plunge 03-06-2003, 09:19 PM Jose Reyes
cardcollector869 03-06-2003, 09:49 PM Austin Kearns. He's a great young talent on the Reds. I watched almost every reds game last year, and this kid can be great. Him and Adam Dunn will be great together for a long time
radioheadfloyd 03-06-2003, 10:14 PM I got Mark B. in my fantasy team, so I will go with him!!
gioperation 03-07-2003, 01:00 AM Watch out for my man in the shadows christian Guzman and jacque jones will become the new ricky henderson except for the stolen bases, he will hit 30-40 homers from the lead off spot they will start a lot of games off 1-0. I asked him why he doesn't walk a lot, he said you ever seen someone on sportscenter drawing a walk.
jdfan123 03-07-2003, 08:08 AM Buerle is a stud and got to go woth the pitchers
thekingpin 03-07-2003, 12:18 PM Ty "Wiggy" Wiggington has a lot to prove... so I think he could surprise all of us. Being the Mets fan I am... I gotta go with him.
nyyanks 03-07-2003, 04:20 PM Alfonso Soriano is awesome, I would without a doubt build my team around him!!!
:hop: :hop: :hop: :hop: :hop: :hop: :hop: :hop: :hop:
Ipster 03-07-2003, 06:25 PM How about some Canadian love? When I was in Toronto over the summer at my cousins house I couldn;t believe how many good prospects there were
- Orlando Hudson
- Josh Phelps
- Woodward
- Hinske
Add Delgado and Halladay
Just a few more arms and maybe two more years and you got a contender!
tygercub12 03-07-2003, 06:37 PM soriano... hands down
Ipster 03-07-2003, 06:57 PM Soriano plays like a vet. He's a yankee of course he's going to be awesome. That's why I left him out.
tygercub12 03-07-2003, 07:08 PM other than soriano, i think hinske is gonna be awesome
patm999 03-07-2003, 09:48 PM hinske i say hes amazing i also like blaylock on the rangers
Ipster 03-07-2003, 10:56 PM How about Nady he any good?

If he's a vet, why did he make so many errors last season?
phillyfan24 09-04-2003, 10:51 PM i think marlon byrd is awesome. when i watch the phillies he is always either scoring a run or getting a big hit
mike1870 09-04-2003, 11:53 PM I would go with either Austin Kearns or Vernon Wells as hitters to build my team around. Also, as for pitchers, I would go with either Mark Prior or Roy Oswalt.
Michael
Cubsfan22 09-04-2003, 11:56 PM Does Mark Prior count? I'd take him
degbowl 09-04-2003, 11:58 PM Jose Reyes
ACBaseball30 09-05-2003, 02:37 AM Vernon Wells....
Guy is a five tool player. Why not build your team around a great centerfielder?
bblair_2002 09-05-2003, 09:51 AM Jose Reyes and Josh Barfield
Molina00 09-05-2003, 10:35 AM this is unbelievable.
The last post was on March 7th and someone somehow found this thread.
anyway, it has to be either Teixeira or Blalock.
Turd Ferguson 09-05-2003, 03:01 PM I believe it's got to be Mark Prior. I think Fox did a similar poll a few weeks ago & it was Prior over Willis, Webb, A-Rod and Soriano I think.

The other three have yet to prove themselves, but Prior over A-ROD? I'm not sure I'd agree with that.
rodent14 09-05-2003, 06:09 PM khalil greene and jeremy reed. Those are my two.
Cubsfan22 09-05-2003, 06:30 PM I'd take Arod if his contract weren't so large. Yes, he may be worth it, and yes, it wasn't his fault he was offered such a large amount of money, but anytime you wrap that much money up in one player it kind of scares me.

True, but I don't believe the poll factored in the amount of salary. It's really not fair to compare prospects (ie Prior, Willis, Webb) making a million or so a year to superstars like Bonds or Sosa or AROD making 18 million a year. Of course the prospect will seem like the better bargain.
lazer128 09-07-2003, 12:38 PM Mark Teixeiria
this guy is going to have one amazing carrer
Rolen212 09-07-2003, 04:07 PM Marlon Byrd, he seriously has great potential. He's got a chance at 30-30 someday.
