View Full Version : Spurs V/S Mav's who wins gioperation 05-17-2003, 11:41 PM I vote for the mav's there in no way duncan chases dirk around for 40 minutes BGray 05-17-2003, 11:45 PM I really want to see the Mavs but feel that the Spurs are all around the stronger team. I hope the Mavs prove me wrong. BGray gioperation 05-17-2003, 11:47 PM yeah but if that jump shot is hot again you can't deny the mav's... stkmtimo 05-17-2003, 11:54 PM Mavs all the way. Nothing like an in-state rivalry. Go Mavs. Tim IggyWH 05-17-2003, 11:55 PM Spurs are too good defensively to lose to the Mavs. Who's going to shut down Duncan??? Dirk certainly can't. stkmtimo 05-17-2003, 11:55 PM Two words: Shawn Bradley. Bradley will dominate Duncan, LOL, I hope. Tim IggyWH 05-18-2003, 12:11 AM HAHAHAHAHAHA... nice fantasy world you live in there timo... we'll talk once you come back to reality. gioperation 05-18-2003, 12:14 AM Originally posted by stkmtimo Two words: Shawn Bradley. Bradley will dominate Duncan, LOL, I hope. Tim Timmy I say some crazy things but not that crazy, duncan will be on dirk and d-rob will be on bradley. podstock 05-18-2003, 02:48 AM Spurs in 5. I do not see how a team without a defense can beat a legitimate candidate for NBA title. Had Webber not been hurt, Mavs would've lost in 5-6 games. Sure, the Mavs can score. But you've gotta have a defense. Only way Mavs win is if Duncan is injured and misses the majority of the games. gioperation 05-18-2003, 03:22 AM First off the mav's have 4 legit scorers and no one can outscore them, and even though their defense is suspect tim can get his points and you can even let tony parker score, but at least 2 of the mav's will get their points as well so it 1 other steps up, you can forget about it. They are not going to get in a 7 game series, I see the mav's winning the nba championship. podstock 05-18-2003, 03:40 AM Lakers had no problem handling the Mavs. As a matter of fact, last December, they spotted the Mavs a 25-27 lead at beginning of 4th quarter, and came back to win by 2 points. Lakers 3-1 vs Mavs this year. And the 1 loss was when Shaq didn't play. I realize the Lakers got trounced....but this post is in reply to you saying ".....First off the mav's have 4 legit scorers and no one can outscore them...." As a matter of fact, Mavs had not beaten Lakers on the road for the past 10-13 years. That's right, 10-13 year losing streak on the road. It's easy to defend perimeter shooting team. Much harder to defend a team with inside and outside post presence. gioperation 05-18-2003, 07:14 AM ok well I think they will win, do you have any spurs cards, as I will look through my stash and see what I got in the mav's and we can put the cards up and winner takes all. I am ready, I don't like the none of the freaking teams, left but I do like the mav's and the mav's have been playing defense lately. You say perimeter team yeah they may be a good shooting team from the outside but they can go inside, trust me on that and dirk battles, who is going to guard dirk, tell me that, who is going to guard nash who is going to guard finley who is going to guard nick the quick tony parker is going to know what hit him. ok here is how I see it duncan v/s dirk---even robinson v/s lafrentz---mavs parker v/s nash---even s. jackson v/s raja bell---even bowen v/s finley---mavs 6th man ginobilli/rose v/s van exel/bradley ----mav's bradley might be a chump but he is tall and can blocks shots in one game yeah the spurs might win, in 7 games I don't think so, the mav's play wide open and run and no team in the NBA has stopped them from running and made them play a half court offense, they have been running all season, so they are ready, the spurs are going to have to step up the intensity and challenge that outside shot, what does that mean, duncan and robinson are going to go outside and guard them, I think dirk is big enough to shoot over duncan and or go around him. and on defense dirk can relax because duncan is going to stay around the basket. The only one's who beat the mav's this year was the mav's, they showed the kings series they can go to the hole if they have to, but they don't because they have pure shooters on that team, who on the spurs are pure shooters, on the kings you have a few pure shooters.... put your money where you mouth is PODSTOCK, I see the mav's the new NBA champs. pwaldo 05-18-2003, 03:39 PM I'll go with the Spurs. I don't see the Mavs winning since they went to 7 games with the Blazers who were a mess and then the Kings without Webber. pwaldo 05-20-2003, 10:56 AM WOW! The Mavs won game 1. I didn't see that one coming. gioperation 05-20-2003, 02:20 PM remember where you heard it first...ME podstock 05-21-2003, 01:42 AM Almost as incredible as Mavs winning Game 1 after a tough 7-game series vs Kings is their 49 out of 50 free throws!!!!! holy cow!!! You couldn't make 49 of 50 free throws in practice in a gym all by yourself gioperation 05-21-2003, 01:51 AM and they hit the last 49 in a row, they missed the first one and was dead red on all the others, in this case offense will beat defense... podstock 05-21-2003, 02:29 AM isn't that mind-boggling!!! I swear, you couldn't hit 49 out of 49 free throws if your life depended on it. Too bad I didn't see the game. Still bummed out from watching the Spurs destroy my Lakers gioperation 05-21-2003, 02:41 AM it whould be sweet justice when mav's beat the spurs, hey I watched this guy hit like 100+ FT's in a row at the gu macker event, this guy is a free throw coach, and get this as he was shooting them he was also talking to the crowd on a headset, if I had a kid playing ball I would hire the guy. YankeePride 05-21-2003, 10:29 PM 49 straight free throws, even though Dallas is a great FT team, was a fluke, and the only reason they came all the way back. Spurs are showing tonight that they are by far the better team. If I can get my 2 favorite teams (original hometown team Nets vs. adopted favorite Spurs), I'll have a WFU champion (Rodney Rogers, Tim Duncan). Go Deacs! |
