you have to protect your batters these guys didn't throw at your head they popped you in the butt or thigh.

agreed. MLB interested mostly in protecting hitters...b/c the home runs are what attracts fans, and that brings in the big $$$$$$$$$$

so what that damn ball still hurts. you still don't suspend a pitcher for 5 days, it is not going to stop it. It is simple protection, because the pitcher knows that if he doesn't hit the batter his position players will not go hard after balls hit, nor will they help him, do you think torri hunter will risk injury going for a ball over the wall(like he did to rob carlos lee) or drive and get turf burns for a pitcher that does not protect them, I know I wouldn't esp in the AL, where pitchers don't bat.

Yeah but they still threw pitches around 90 MPH. Not like there is a big difference between 90 MPH and 97 MPH when it hits your head. Both will do damage.

but the killing part about that is you knew bob gibson was going to plunk you, how would you feel knowing you are about to get hit, just something else you have to think about and that is what made those guys great, they had no fear.

Do you go to many games, if so how do you like my boy latroy hawkins pitching this year and the last. I grew up with him and stood up in his wedding.

yeah i usually go to at least 5 games a year but thats because the damn metrodome is so bad (its not as bad as what everyone says though). yeah latroy was kind of shaky as a starter but when he get's that 97 mph fastball going, he's unstoppable.

That is cool the next time you go if you get there early tell him his buddy from home said what's up, it will amaze him that I met you.
