Oh man, where to start. Michelle Wie is above average in the game of golf for her age, there is no denying that. But she continues to make herself look VERY unprofessional in the eyes of professional golfers across the world. Over the summer all we heard from her was how she INSISTED on playing in Mens tournaments only. She refused to participate in any womans tourneys at any time. Every exemption that she was given, she fell dead last, or within a handful of spots from last. After numerous failures in the mens tournaments, she finally took a break and focused on College, what she should have been working on months ago.

Now she is in a tournament this week of 20 people. This is a LPGA tournament for champions only and it had ONE exemption. In May of this year, it was given to Michelle Wie. This invite was accepted before she even put her first ball down on #1 tee. With the LONG and very stressful summer she created for herself, the exemption was NEVER given back. Needless to say the struggles continue for somebody who just doesn't realize her talent yet. The bar is set to high and she will never reach it. After the first round she is +7 where the leaders are -4 and -5. Double digit deficit IN THE FIRST ROUND. I'm sorry but the LPGA, PGA and any other major golfing league should just shut the door on her for at least a year. Tell her to take part in local tournaments and work on her skills. She REALLY needs to start the bar much lower then where it is at because its doing nothing more then giving us water cooler talk at work on how ESPN hyped the heck out of her.

Yea its sad really, bad management I would guess. If it is just her parents manaing her I would suggest hiring a pro possibly.

Yeah...she would defintely need a professional manager to keep this stuff like it needs to be.

Her father, who is also her caddy, is exploiting his daughter's talent and pushing her too quickly. It's BJ Wie, more than Michelle, who's chasing the money. Add to that ESPN and other outlets willing to enable the Wies by adding to the hype.

Annika Sorenstam tried to match up against the men in a tournament, failed to make the cut, and never tried again. The Wies are determined to prove Michelle can play with the boys, but has anyone noticed that Michelle is never at a tournament that has a certain fellow by the name of Eldrick (Tiger) Woods in the field? If anyone could give Michelle some career advice, Tiger could.

Great post...I agree with you 100%. She definately has a LONG way to go. I remember hearing how she was going to be the Tiger Woods of LPGA and now I don't even think she would be worthy of carrying his bag!!! She needs to play back at her level and right now I don't know if the LPGA is where she should be until she proves she can cut it...and she definately doesn't belong in some PGA Tournaments when she can't even cut it on the LPGA.

Michelle Wie is one of the most overrated athletes in sports history. All we heard for a few years was how she was going to set the golf world on fire and win every tournament out there. She has never, even remotely, lived up to the hype.

Her parents do have to accept some of the blame for their daughter's failures, but Michelle herself really wanted to prove that she was as good as the men by playing in their tournaments.

Hopefully, she will realize what a waste of time that has been and will take the right steps to save her career before she is totally washed up.

Michelle Wie's 80+ rounds are not helping her and just gives people a reason to laugh about. SHe needs to start out at lower lpga events.
