Lesracing 11-17-2006, 09:02 PM Hi gang,
As the 2006 season draws to a close, we "should" have some spare time for some extra trading (ok, that and watching old races to hold us until 2007, lol). Now would be a great time to take a moment and say HI to everyone and get aquainted. :welcome:
Many of the members here are fairly well known to each other, from several trading sites. But there are also many new members and this is the perfect place to say HI and tell everybody a little something about yourself and your collections!
Here's to a GREAT off season full of lots of trades!!! :thumb:
Lesracing 11-17-2006, 09:18 PM I'll start this off...
Hello, my name is Les and I am addicated to trading cards!
I collect Dale Earnhardt, Kevin Harvick & Kerry Earnhardt cards & collectibles. I'm also a racing set collector and currently have 500+ sets of racing trading cards in my collection with many rare and unlisted sets. In my personal collection, I have over 500 authentic pack pulled autographs as well as many thousand TTM & in person autographs.
I have been collecting all kinds of racing goodies and trading cards since 1986. I am always on the lookout for unique and rare cards sets.
I will glady help members with identifying cards and will scan/take pics of cards for you if I have the card(s) in my collection.
I also run the case breaks for the new racing releases and have decided to make STC the new home for these case breaks. For those that have not been apart of these in the past, the "casebreaks" are a presell for the new racing releases that are sold for the actual cost we pay the wholesaler, plus the exact cost for USPS mail, insurance, etc. I do this to help my friends here in the racing forums. Low prices, no shipping 'ripoffs' and no eBay sellers to deal with!!! :thumb:
I hope to see you all around the site and if you need any help, or have questions, feel free to ask myself or any team member for help!!!
HAPPY TRADING!!! :becky:

Shayne1911 11-17-2006, 10:29 PM Hi  I'm Shayne. I've been a Nascar fan for over a year and a half. My favorite drivers are Elliott Sadler and Denny Hamlin. I collect their cards and anything else I can find of their's. I hate to miss a race. My weekends are mostly planned around them. I have no idea what I'm gonna do for 3 months without racing!
Besides collecting cards, I also like to take pictures, especially of my two dogs, Tia and Tobie, crochet, make necklaces and bracelets, read Nascar magazines, and play on the computer.
I have a twin sister (Ashley8318). We bump draft all the time. It's fun and we're good at it. :bump2: I'm sure people at school think we're weird.. going down the halls saying "Bump draft ... major bump draft ... you can make a pass ... you lost the draft!" haha
abnascar22 11-18-2006, 12:33 AM Name's Alex. I'm a recovering card addict. I no longer collect cards. I do collect some diecasts and postcards, but that's about it.
My favorite drivers are Ward Burton, Scott Wimmer, Denny Hamlin, and Andy Santerre.
I'm also a huge Boston Red Sox fan. GO SOX!
I was a racing moderator at SCS for a couple years, until I resigned last month.
I'm a writer. I'm currently in college pursuing a journalism degree. I've covered NASCAR races in the past... it's a lot of fun. I've been to NASCAR races (as a fan) at Loudon, Charlotte, and Richmond.
I'm a huge Clash fan (well, shouldn't you be if they're "The Only Band that Matters"? lol). I'm learning to play guitar as well.
I built and run my website (TaterRacing.com (http://www.taterracing.com)). I have fun updating it with race stats of my drivers and articles I've written. Right now, I'm working on a Clash tribute page complete with lyrics and full songs.
I guess that's it. Who's on deck?
Alex
skippy 11-18-2006, 08:11 AM Ok I guess I'll go next:
I'm Mike Goedel AND I'M ADDICTED TO TRADING........ I like the thrill of completing the trade and most the time will find something from you if I can help you get something for your PC.
You could say I'm on forced retirement from the construction trade. My doctor told me I had to find a new career so I'm in my 3rd year at Marshall University working on an Accounting degree. Hope to grad from there in spring of 2008.
I collect Greg Biffle and David Stremme, also am collecting Tony Stewart for my wife. During racing season you all might have heard great thunderous roars when Tony has won,( I know Les has), that's my wife doing her happy smoke dance....:sign0020: . I have been helping my daughters work on their collections but since two of them have joined here, they can work on their own now....:tongue0011: . I'm still helping my youngest on hers and she collects Kasey Kahne and, like she says (her future husband :puke: ), Jon Wood....:sign0020:
My other hobbies used to include hunting and tournament fishing for bass. I hope to become more invovled in them again after school.
If anybody is having troubles on here please let me or any other team member know and let us help you.
Thanks
Mike
Marshall Racing 11-18-2006, 08:22 AM Well ill go next,
My name is Robb. I am in the USAF. Have been for almost 3 years. I am a car guy, I had my own shop before joining the AF. I paint, do mech, and detail cars. Also i collect cards. I have been doing so off and on for over 10 years but only hard core for about a year now. I just got my wife into it. Took me a while but i finially got here to try. Im big into Racing and Basketball cards. My favs are Tim Richmond, Dale Jr, Ryan Newman, and the Charlotte Bobcats, and especially Adam Morrison. I watch almost all sports. My fav teams are Bobcats of course and the Steelers, and the Vols!! Thats about it for me.
Labontebrothersfan 11-18-2006, 12:59 PM Hi all - I'm Kathy Davis. I'm a "left" coaster hailing from Bellflower, CA.
I started following NASCAR in like 1994 and picked Terry Labonte as my favorite driver. Man I'm gonna miss him! I added Bobby as my #2 favorite after the race where he wrecked, got out of the car kicked the tire and threw his helmet at the car. And so Labontebrothersfan was born! With Terry retiring I added Carl Edwards to my favorites. In the Busch series I like Danny O'Quinn. Not sure how much time Roush is gonna give him to "shine" put I watched him on that Driver X show and really liked his attitude and personality. So I collect his stuff to.
I started collecting trading cards in 1998 - bought a bunch of packs of 1998 Maxx but didn't complete a set. I probably would have given up if my hubby hadn't told me about ebay. I got hooked buying sets.
I stumbled across a couple trading forums in Yahoo Groups then someone emailed me about SCS. Thanks to some awesome trades and Les' case breaks, I have a pretty good collection of race used and autographs as well as my sets. I wasn't gonna collect driver singles - I figured I had the card in my set why did I need another - but I slowly started getting some in trade and now I rather like having a Terry book a Bobby book & a Carl book.
Trading is half the fun of collecting so I'm looking forward to lots more trades.
HokieHarvickFan 11-18-2006, 01:48 PM I'm Christine (Chrissy for short), and I am 29 going on 59 years old. :tongue0011:
I am married to Robb (MarshallRacing), and we've been enslaved to one another for going on 11 years. LOL. Just kiddin. Married life is great, and I couldn't imagine life without ole Robb. ;)
Favorite drivers are: Harvick and Kahne. Been collecting cards for just a little while. I used to help Robb collect them, then I started getting into it more and more. I enjoy trading, and opening packs. I am also a HUGE Va Tech fan. We are from that area, so I have been a fan of them for quite a while.
I am a SAHW for now, and it's starting to get a bit old. Hope to get out there and work, so I can have my own cash stash for some sweet cards.
I also am an avid Fairy collector. I collect anything having to do with fairies. LUV 'Em!
Anyhoo.....that's it!
Ripken8fan55 11-21-2006, 11:32 PM Hi, my name is Tom. I`ve been collecting racing cards for a few years now, other sports for alot of years lol. I`m a diehard Tony Stewart fan, but I also collect Jeff Burton, Kerry Earnhardt, Shawna Robinson, and Jr. & Sr. cards. I`ve been on disability for about 10 years from a work related accident so I don`t have much of a cash flow. But thanks to my trading friends I keep adding to my collection!
I`m kinda in a downturn as far as other sports teams I like, Packers, Orioles, Celtics, USC Trojans, you get the picture lol. I hope to make some new friends on here and make some more trades!!! Oh, I can`t forget KENTUCKY BASKETBALL!!!!
Tom.

24_JGordonFan_24 11-22-2006, 08:44 PM Hey y'all. I'm Amanda and I just turned 30 last week. I've been married for 11 yrs., no kids yet except for the 4-legged furry kind, lol We have 3 dogs (all Beagles) and 5 cats.
I've been a Jeff Gordon fan since 1994. The first race I ever watched was the inaugural Brickyard 400 and I happened to pick Gordon to win...been a fan ever since! I loved his personality & obvious talent. Jimmie has been my #2 driver since his rookie year and I'm also a fan of T. Labonte. My hubby isn't as big of a fan as I am, but when he does watch a race, he pulls for Jimmie, Harvick, and Stewart. He's played a big part in helping me with my racing collections.
Outside of NASCAR I have several other interests/hobbies including....music (mostly 80's, Classic Rock, and Contemporary Christian), outdoor photography, antiques, 4-wheeler riding, PS2, cooking, reading, gardening, hiking, target shooting, collecting other items, and most outdoor activities.
I guess that's about all I can add....next...........
nyhddb 11-22-2006, 10:26 PM Hi,
most all of you know me, but if you don't, I am Dave. I am 37 and have been married to my wonderful wife Lynda for 10 years. We have three children, Alex 8, and the twins Haley 5 and Erik 5. I like to hunt and fish a little. I collect racing (reed sorenson). I have attended many races in my life but none in the last few years. I am a union electrician and love doing it.
I collect kinda weird. I try to get 3 of each card made of my driver Reed Sorenson. I try to get 3 of every color scheme (if there are different ones available). You can see what i mean in my photobucket. I feel I have one of the best, if not the best, Reed collection anywhere. only missing 4 cards to have every one produced (except the ebay previews, which i want no part of)
i like to try and help others with their collection so look me up if i have something you want or need. nice to meet everyone new and old. i have made countless friends since i started in 2002. i have over 1000 transactions on ebay and had over 550 (and an elite gold member on scs). i also mod on nuts2 and enjoy going to all 3 boards every day, would go NUTS if i didn't.
want to say great job to all the creators of this new forum. hope to do many many trades here.
dave

FueledByDew 12-06-2006, 11:28 PM Hello my name is Heather. I'm 24 married for 3 years. I have a son who will be 1 year old on Christmas day. I think to say I am a huge Kasey Kahne fan would be an understatement. I have been collecting racing cards since about July of 2006. Basically I was collecting Kasey Kahne diecasts and realized I had so many there wasn't much left to buy. So I shifted my focus onto cards. Since then I have been on a tear and I think I have a pretty good collection going. I only collect Kasey Kahne. I'd like to get my hands on all the Kasey Kahne R/U and Auto cards I can. Hopefully we will become friends and complete a few trades.
Edgar (A nickname my husband gave me. I use it here since there is a few other Kahne fans with the name Heather.)
StillBig20Fan 12-07-2006, 04:53 PM Ok, some of y'all know me... for those who don't...My name is Carl and I'm 37 and presently live in Gadsden, AL (about a 1/2 hour from the Talladega). My Racing collecting interests are mainly Tony Stewart, Robby Gordon, and Todd Bodine...cards, diecast, just about anything...I also do a couple of sets as well as some minor collecting of other things that strike my fancy - Timberwolf, Hooters related sponsorship, Joe Gibbs Racing, etc. I also collect Baseball - Willie Stargell, older Pittsburgh Pirates (especially members of the 1979 Championship team), Tom Underwood, Curt Schilling, Tim Wakefield, Eric Chavez. Hockey - Jari Kurri, Andy Moog, Wayne Gretzky, JC Bergeron, Chris LiPuma and anything to do with the Atlanta Knights IHL team. Football - Ray Guy, Brett Favre, and other guys who went to the University of Southern Mississippi, Pat Tilley, Brian Bosworth, Jack Lambert, Mean Joe Greene, Steve Largent, and Charlie Joiner. SHLBYSALEN 12-09-2006, 02:06 PM :fighting0023: Hey, My name is Michael Runyon. Im 38 happily married to Michelle with a wonderfull 6 year old Shelby. We also have 2 cats cheyenne and carly. Also an english bulldog named cricket.
I am a lifelong race fan. I can remember as early as four my dad listening to races on the radio (which still has the best commentators). I knew who David Pearson and Richard Petty before i had ever seen a day of school. We were at the talladega race when Tiny Lund died. I saw Richard Petty win his 199th and met Bill Elliott before he was awesome or even won a race.
David Pearson is still my favorite driver period even though he last ran a race the year i graduated high school. I have met him three times and havent been able to muster more than 20 words (literally) total. He is my Michael Jordan.
I grew up all over (constructon brat) and so we were nascar fans up north when others didnt have a clue what it was. I have been to dover 8 times before they ever showed it live on tv. I actually have been to the races when you could still get to the pits afterwards without being a celebrity or a corporate sponsor.
I am now an asheville nc citizen and as one have embraced the local racing community. I collect all of the asheville racers i can. JACK INGRAM, ROBERT PRESSLEY, BANJO MATTHEWS, DAVE MARCIS, STEPHEN LEICHT, ANDY PETREE, and any other i can locate. IF you have any extra cards of any of those i would love them.
My main collection is David Pearson i have over 160 different cards of his signed including 3 1/1 cards. I am still missing a few but am always on the lookout. i also have an unsigned set of his cards that is almost compete (minus 1/1's) and 14 sets in various stages of just his cards.
i also collect deceased drivers die cast and cards 1 of each driver. This is not morbid but a way to honor them. I have 44 1/64 deceased drivers cars with the first being joe weatherly and the last being louise smith.
I also love minor league baseball with the asheville tourists being my fave
other favorite sports teams/players are
COLLEGE PRO
NCSU CHICAGO BEARS. CUBS, SOX, BULLS, BLACKHAWKS
WVU CAROLINA PANTHERS, HURRICANES
MARSHALL GIANTS/CHARGERS/ATLANTA BRAVES
NAVY
PLAYERS
GREG MADDUX, WALTER PAYTON, JIM MCMAHON, JIM VALVANO, MIKE MADDUX
