I heard this recently too. I'm a bit confused by this all - because it was announced months ago that Mike Wallace was signed to drive that car and had sponsorship to do so for the next couple of years. My thinking is this may be James second Busch team he was planning to field for Cale Gale - but Gale left the Phoenix program to join Kevin Harvick Incorporated. Jayski I think mentioned something about the 18 not having enough sponsorship to run the whole 07 Busch season. We should know more soon I figure. - Scott

Maybe Gibbs is tired of fixing all the cars that Yeley wrecks... limiting the damage to just the Cup series lol.

Who knows? Maybe it's a sign that Yeley will soon be out the door. Especially with Aric Almirola doing so well in limited Busch Series starts. I think Yeley will REALLY need to prove himself in 2007 just to keep a spot at JGR. He's been given more opportunities than others doing just as well as him.

Oh I don't know, a dog-gone 5th place finish in points isn't to bad now is. Then he might not have the points that every other rookie has, 5/6, but then he has received the most winnings of all rookies, including Hamlin. When JGR puts its fourth team out and lets Almirola in it then we'll see what he's made up with.

J.J. Yeley will drive Phoenix Racing's No. 1 Chevrolet in the Busch Series next season, with a possible run for the championship. A spokesman for Yeley confirmed the move at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday. Yeley drives for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Nextel Cup and Busch Series, but Yeley was told recently a sponsorship deal to keep Yeley in a JGR Busch deal couldn't be worked out. Yeley could end up running every Busch race next season. If he's challenging for the point lead when the series begins running separately from Nextel Cup in June, Yeley will commute between the two series. If not, Phoenix will find another driver for its Busch car. JGR vice president Steve deSouza also confirmed that Denny Hamlin and Aric Almirola will split time in the No. 20 Chevrolet in the Busch Series next season, with Tony Stewart, Almirola and a to-be-decided development driver or two in the No. 18. Sponsorship has yet to be found for every race for the No. 18.

I just found that. That does make me a bit happier than I was last night. lol I could possibly see him at Kentucky again..oh yeah! :becky:

Hopefully Denny races at Kentucky next year. But Aric Almirola will probably race it since the Nextle Cup race is in Michigan.
