I have the most wonderful wife in the world. This Friday, November 24th, will be our 15th wedding anniversary. Eventhough my wife doesn't understand my hobby, the endless hours I spend on the computer, and has never bought me a single card/pack/box, and continues to tell me "No!!! I'm NOT buying you any cards!", I was completely surprised and amazed when she gave me two Holiday Blaster boxes this evening.
Beings that I couldn't wait until Friday, I opened the first box. It contained a 2006 Premium Burn out card of Terry Labonte. She wanted me to wait until Friday to open the second box, but I just couldn't wait and she agreed to let me open it too. Upon opening the box, there before me was the autographed card I've been chasing for over six years...DALE EARNHARDT JR. God only knows how much money and time I've spent in the past trying to get this card and thank God my wife doesn't know.
I don't know if it was just her dumb luck, her wish to make me happy, or the good fortune of our 15th year anniversary...but because of the circumstances that this came to be, this card means so much more than just a Dale Earnhardt Jr. autograph.
